    End of Season

Happy NewYear to you too. I'm thinking that I'll wait for a few months before that will appeal to me. :-) Gotta get though the deep freeze first. See you latter. Best, Len.

    End of Season

Long time no see! Good to hear from you again. Happy New Year. Perhaps we'll see each other more in 2016. Coffee sometime? Len.

    Morning Mist

Who would have expected to capture a snowless scene such as this on Christmas day? A beautiful range of colours for your efforts! Happy New Year. Seee you in 2016. Len.
  4. What 7 or 8 year old girl isn't enthralled with a baby? The expressions on their faces are precious. Great candid street shot! Happy New Year. See you in 2016. Len

    Making Waves II - Nevis

Very nicely composed and excellent timing. Happy New Year! Best, Len
  6. Happy New Year! Hope you don't have to view the wolrd from. that chair for too much longer, though it does look like a comfortable perch. And, don't forget to service the dog's bowl. Looks empty. :-) Best, Len

    End of Season

Let's hope that 2016 will bring some positive changes to your country. National consensus must change to thinking like citizens with a commonality instead of the differences that one's religious affiliation brings. This is only one opinion in seven billion. The brightest minds in the world haven't been able to solve the problem. And I'm sure my opinion is an over simplification of the situation but my desire for a solution is sincere. Best to you in 2016 & thanks for your continued participation here on PN. Len.

    End of Season

Always nice to hear from you. It might be a while (5 months or so) until these chairs are used to play nice with the posteriors of the tired traveler. I include my original B&W version for comparison & critique. I invoked some artistic license with it. Happy New Year, Len.

    End of Season

This is the pond that supplies the water for the Scandinavia Spa, in Collingwood. While the Spa was busy this pond area was devoid of human activity. Well, it was mid December. :-) These chairs were the most interesting foreground elements I could see. Soooo.... Hope your recovery continues & we can get out for a shoot sometime in 2016. Happy New Year, Len.

    End of Season

Would indeed be a nice place to relax..................................in the summer. Had a great Christmas, thank you. Happy New Year, Len.

    End of Season

The humans have likely flown south for the winter. By now, with normal weather, this pond would have about an inch of ice on it. I've boosted the contrast in PSE to minimize some of the mid tones, for an edgier look. Happy New Year, Len.
  12. A very nicely composed story telling reward for your travel album. Looks like the captain got low tide and high tide confused. :-) Reminds me, I've got a couple of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' to watch. Catch you later. Happy New Year! Len.

  14. Think what looking straight down from 1168 ft. would do for you! :-) Happy New Year, Len.
  15. Though likely to outlast us all, this structure appears in imminent danger of collapse. I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to explore these old Roman ruins at close range, especially on a windy day. I wonder at the frequency of loose bricks & stone falling off. You were close enough to capture the textures well and the use of people supplies scale. I'd like to explore this location at sunrise or sunset for a lower angle of warm light that just may be superior to that of mid day. I like the old vs new (er) in your other offering. Looks like a fun location to explore with a camera. And that's what most of us photo enthusiasts are after isn't it? Fun! Merry Christmas. Len.
  16. Your constructive comment\critique will be gratefully received. LM.
  17. <p>Sven, (...Garbage for B&W...) While it's quite possible you may have a defective V500 don't discount all these units. Many of us here on Photo.net have used the V500 successfully for many years, me included. Mine also works with Windows 10 which I upgraded to last summer. Check out<a href="/gallery/tag-search/search?query_string=v500"> 'Gallery'> 'Search by photo tags' > V500</a> for some samples in both B&W and colour. Have a close look at Dragan Kodjerski's posts & tell us if there is a problem there we are not aware of. Used V500 units should be quite cheap now so it could well be a mistake to write them all off because of one faulty unit. Come back & let us know what your solution was & post a couple of examples. Best, Len.</p>

    Traveller.

This woman looks like she could be a model. Very attractive! Are you sure you didn't happen on a commercial shoot? Great street shot. Stay safe! Best, Len.
  19. This one puts me in mind of a technique that Freeman Patterson used for a time. Perhaps he still does. He also used the term 'impressions'. This one gives me the impression of an autumn forest. So, I guess it works! :-) Merry Christmas! Len.
  20. Always a treat to see what you've recently photographed. This one is no exception. I suspect that this offering, like some of your others, presents better in B&W than in colour, in your opinion at least. No argument from me. It's great! Beautiful range of tones and a fine composition. The foreground elements are very interesting and even provides some leading lines to your subject. You've even managed to avoid a dead-center placement of it. Those foreground rocks would themselves provide fodder for your lens. Something to consider if you ever find you are having a dry spell (photographically speaking) Excellent sky details as well. What's not to like about it? Merry Christmas! Len.
  21. I guess I'm a bit of a rebel. The cliche composition of the CN tower is to compose it on an angle, corner to corner, but I decided to take it straight on. Did you see the people in the red suits doing the Edgewalk? Scary! Thanks for your always welcome visit. Best, Len.

    Tram in The Night

What's not to like here? Excellent composition with the silhouetted figure on the right counter balancing your tram subject. Great use of the tracks as leading lines and light fixtures breaking up the darkness near the top. The reflections in the wet cobblestones provide an interesting pattern at the bottom without stealing the show. If I were to offer one suggestion to 'improve' this shot (for me) it would be to tone down that bright & distracting illuminated sign on the right. Or, crop it out altogether, your call. One to print for sure. Best, Len.
  23. You had to do a bit of digging to come to this old offering. Thanks for that. Good suggestion about the shadow detail. I'll run it through my copy of PSE6 to see if I can do that without touching the (almost detail less) highlights. See link below. It was a cloudy dull day if memory serves me. YOU WERE RIGHT! I like the rework much better. Who said this forum wasn't beneficial? :-) Best, Len.

    Opportunity Knocks!

Yah, the fan behind the player is quite animated.  And the couple on the right seem to have more interest in each other than in the game.  :-)  Luckily hockey sticks lend themselves quite nicely to diagonal lines.  Win-win.   Thanks for your support.  Merry Christmas, Len.
