1.
Are we to take from your opening comment Sanford, that you no longer possess the E-M5? My shots this week are of an Ochna Surralta plant, commonly called the Mickey Mouse plant.

 2.
I'm grateful that I'm surrounded by nature everyday, and that apparently we can grow corn!

 3.
Thanks for the info, Louis, I get it now. I have an Olympus P&S that I bought in 2010 back to keep with me all the time and it is truly the WORST ever Oly product ever, although obviously I didn't know it at the time, I guess I was blinded by my long history with and and love for Oly camera's. Long story short, I'm looking for a compromise where I get a small carry around camera with decent abilities, hence my question.

 4.
The final shot includes the orange hose nozzle in the background as well...

 5.
Very quickly, the light moved from the web onto the background...

 6.
Brian, that is quite a striking shot - and quite tricky to pull off as a HDR I should think given the shadows generated by the tree on the church, i.e. movement of the tree might have been an issue.

Louis, congrats on the new camera, just out of curiosity, what is the main appeal of the A6000 given that you already have the A7?

My shots this week were takne quite late in the afternoon when I noticed a spider web lit by a patch of sunlight. Behind the spider web is a pile of garden hose. In front of the spider web is a pile of heavy pots so I couldn't get in any closer, but I took some shots anyway.

 7.
Hosteen, I just have to say that I personally find tripods for macro shots a pain in the butt, mainly because you can never get them in the same position as when you are hand holding, so please don't think that you need to go back to a 'proper way' when the E-M1 IS works so well. Just my two cents worth :) One more thing, I really like those shots, and the third one is a stand out for me.

 8.
Late afternoon light and a Dandelion...

 9.
I found some plastic netting recently and had a play with it too...

 10.
Louis, so that's where Tony Stark got the idea from lol! David, I too am particularly drawn to your first and last shots.

My shots this week are from a recent studio session. You may have seen this type of thing before, but I had to try it for myself, and then put my own twist on it.

 11.
No worries Sanford - I'm sure we are all looking forward to some pics with your new camera too.

 12.
Hi Sanford, congrats on the purchase. I will pass along a link to a very good 'how to set up OMD cameras' info page by Robin Wong that Hosteen kindly supplied to me. I hope you find the answers there. Here is the link: http://robinwong.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/the-robin-wongs-om-d-camera-cheat-sheet.html

 13.
Brian, thank you, I wasn't all that sure about the type of flower it was, hence the (?). As much as I love photographing flowers and nature, I'm pretty hopeless at identifying them most of the time. I will check it out, as you are more likely to be right than me lol!

Hosteen, I have had a similar experience and I rather liked the patterns too!

 14.
An appealing image there, Sanford!

Brian, I must confess it took me a few minutes to grasp your concept. Initially, I was thinking Barbie = skinny + hungry = but can't eat anything because need to skinny - which made me wonder why the apple, not a cup cake, then I got it lol!

My shots this week are of some orchids (?) that flowered along the side fence recently. They have flowered before, but they only look good for one day, which basically means I have to notice them on the day they fully flower and grab some shots then and there. Luckily for me, it had just been raining (an almost everyday occurrence at the moment) and they had opened that day, so I got some nice shots.

 15.
Nice one Louis! I really like the after shave and cityscape shots.

 16.
Thanks heaps Rick - it turns out that is is a Ribwort Plantain. What I loved in particular about this little patch was the variety between flowers. Some had heads rather like pineapples, and were skinny and tall, and some were rounder and fatter with heads more like cones. The skinny tall flowers tended to have petals all over them, the rounder ones had petals coming out in regular places but more like a pin wheel arrangement. All from the same plant! Nature never fails to amaze me.

 17.
Thanks John, the little weird thing is that I was shooting at f.5 which should have meant that more of the weed flower was in focus, so yes I caught the antlers just in focus, but it seemed the breeze moved the rest of the flower slightly. Still, I loved the effect, hence the post.

 18.
It is indeed funny that we are talking about weeds this week as I have been rather obsessed with a small patch of weeds in the yard myself. This little patch has survived two quite bad storms within the last week, high winds and tons of rain dumping down on their tiny little flowers. I have photographed them about four days in a row, and checked on them after each storm.

 19.
I agree with David - John that soft filter effect definitely came through, really lovely. I'm curious though, so can I ask what you used?

David, nice to see a close up from you.

Sadanand, lovely flowers images, that first one is quite striking.

My shots this week are from a patch of weeds I found in the back yard. It has been really windy for some weeks now, and because of the reach of the sun, later in the afternoon is better for shots, but worse for wind. I talking about trying to shoot little weed flowers being flung around by the wind. But an interesting side effect was a few missed focus shots - just as I hit the shutter button, the flower moved. Here is oof shot 1.
