  1. JDM, I have been a happy customer of KEH when it comes to camera, lenses, & flashes; I am familiar with meaning of its ratings. As I am on a distant US island, so the shipping charges related to exchanges would pile up quick. Therefore I would have to basically put up with whatever I would happen to buy, short of the bag having a defect missed (for the rating) by the KEH staff. Edward, your words may be enough for me to buy one from KEH! I hadn't read about camera bags being bought from KEH. (Then again I did not search on the topic much either.) Looks like I would be the first one to report on the subject. (In case anybody is curious, one zipper-pull of Lowepro S&F Specialist 85 AW lost one track of the zipper; loose threads are cropping around the zipper. I am wanting to replace it with Lowepro Pro Messenger 180 AW or similar ThinkTank Photo Retrospective. Damn! That reminds me the shoulder ache during anime con ... shoulder bag, then ... argh! $@#!)
  2. Joyce, Ellis may be referring to copyright registration in USA via Library of Congress ... - Video on How to Register A Group of Published Photos using the eCO System, http://www.photoattorney.com/video-register-group-published-photos-eco-system/ - eCO Registration System, http://www.copyright.gov/eco/
  3. Could anybody share their impression of camera bags (not pouches or wraps) actually purchased (in EX or EX+ condition) from KEH?
  4. On A700 & A900, setting "AF with Shutter" option to "Off" separates the focus from shutter button (different from "AF/MF" button). Pressing the navigation lever (joystick, if you like) would then cause focusing; pressing shutter button would only make an exposure. In this mode continuous focus (AF-C) does not work as OP wants (verified on A900). It is as if camera were in AF-S mode. For continuous focusing (or, subject tracking), "AF with Shutter" needs to be set to "On"; thus use of shutter button for both focusing & exposure. I can't say how it is on any other (Sony SLR) camera.
  5. Chris, I was thinking that enabling "Release mode priority" should not have mattered (as long as one knows that it would mean some out of focus images due to camera not acquiring focus); it would have actually helped so that one would not have to wait for, well, for camera to acquire focus (by definition). Does this mode actually interfere with PDAF use? (I do not have a camera as being discussed here, so I am unable to experiment myself.)
  6. Jim D, you should have put your response/query about RX100 camera in "Mirrorless Digital Camera" forum.
  7. The video was intolerable, which would have been still that way if produced with any other hardware or software.
  8. Neato! Hope a benefactor other than Adobe acquires/licenses the software tech & hire people.
  9. As nobody had replied yet & though I haven't used any Sony A7 camera ... The obvious solution is turn on the camera the-time-it-takes-to-boot seconds sooner when taking a photo. Or more practically, keep the camera already on & carry spare batteries. "But even, with no image in the lCD when I don't get the eye in the evf I can get a picture." -- Denis B. Is that a problem? Your camera might be configured, possibly by yourself, to use only EVF for photo taking to reduce battery consumption.
  10. Thanks Ellis for posting the link to "The Writing's on the Wall" & thus saving me from searching for my would be response.
  11. In her series "I fought the Law", Olivia L makes fun of the laws via photographs. Sixteen of those are shown at ... http://www.wired.com/2014/07/olivia-locher-i-fought-the-law/ (I personally found the background of the laws more interesting than photos themselves. She does not mention the background & history in her series. I would have been happy if she would even just provide links to elsewhere. Anyway, background of "Hawaii’s law against keeping coins in your ears" is listed there.)

  13. The newer search facility is worse which lists various unrelated results; have to choose other options to filter out the carp. Previously the search facility was limited but returned only the relevant results. I would not have minded the changes if at least the search facility worked properly. It is now damn too much work, for now there is not even a sub-category page to go to.
  14. Jochen S, from various reports of Tamron 28-75 mm f/2.8 in Minolta A mount, the lens is not sharp enough at f/2.8 to be usable, and need to use f/5.6+ aperture. (OTOH, reports of Tamron 24-70 mm f/2.8, about US$ 1200, say that it is much better than the above and nearly matches the current OEM lenses in the same range.)
  15. That false nose -- harder than glass -- has the high potential to "polish" off some of the screen, JDM. What, a surgical mask is not in fashion among general public around any of you? That is first thing I thought of anyway after reading OP.
  16. 500 level of (501, 502, 503, 504, etc) errors[0,1] are related only to photo.net server(s). Client software (OP's OS+client browser for example) does not have any affect on these types of errors. . 17. This rating thing seems like a fun, the fun I have been missing out on for so long. No more!
  18. If the frame as a whole looks good, then I would sharpen first. If rest of the surroundings are not appealing, then I would crop first.
  19. Spam ... http://www.photo.net/olympus-camera-forum/00cfzV ... or incomprehensible run-on sentence( fragment)s.
  20. James, could you possibly post an image by lighting the front element from the rear end, and possibly with a polarizer?
  21. Thanks, Marc. Man, car in that "Standard" mode image is very orange (to state the obvious). The image also looks paler, more yellowish (than "Vivid" ones) overall. Note that, besides higher exposure (about 1 stop), the color on the side of the car (not lit by direct sun light) looks similar enough across all the images.
  22. But ... but it is "an Advanced New All-In-One Wide-Angle to Telephoto Zoom Lens"! That is nothing short of amazing. Tamron! News!
