  1. I love doing this kind of composition. They don't always turn out but yours are always so interested. It reminds me of an Insect Trap and I think I see an Insect body within. Always a pleasure to view products of your imagination.......always thinking outside of the Box ! Bravo Herman !

    Frozen nature

excellent Macro Herman, thank goodness the FROST is now gone ! Excellent detail achieved in the crystals!
  3. really interesting POV for this shot and of course always admire your black and white processing. Was this a scan on your Epson??

    Untitled

I love natural light and here we see the shadows, reflections and patterns made by the window frame and exterior architecture as well. I like how the light plays on the radiator as well.
  5. I really like how you framed this shot Herman. Lots of interesting detail inside and out !

excellent POV of this old Doorway and architecture of the building. Thank you for your recent visit to my 'bug' and your insightful comments........always appreciate hearing from you dear Herman. I am not online a lot but your interest helped me decide to post a few more images :) best always my friend, Gail
  7. Took this image of my daughter's hand holding this rock as she looked out on Lake Ontario.

    Glorious Poppies

Took this shot in early June 2016 - a bit windy that day but managed to snap this one at just the right moment.

    Beautiful Ladybug

I brought some foliage along with the Ladybug up under my Gazebo(on Picnic Table) on our Deck and took some shots using my tripod. I picked a spot that took advantage of some westerly light filtering into the Gazebo.
  10. I am so glad you enjoyed this image Arthur !! at times I do enjoy playing with Topaze Impressions but I am not very accomplished with it. I too enjoy Monet and am humbled that you 'saw' a bit of him in this image. When I do use Topaze I am not always satisfied with what it transforms the image into and I end up 'cloning and adding layers' to get it to a point where I am satisfied with it. Hoping you have a great summer and many opportunities to take lots of lovely images, kind regards, GAil

    Tiny Insect

My goodness Herman - it was so good to hear from you and truly humbling to hear your comments about this image. I am fascinated by the Macro World......many times it 'Grosses me out' - but I also enjoy the challenge of trying to 'get the shot'. I have not learned how to stack images etc . I would like to but any Macro Insect images you see of mine, they have mostly been handheld - sometimes I use my tripod. I DELETE so many of them re 'focus' and I also struggle at times making sure I am in the Proper Focal Plane for the Insect. Yes, so many of these insects are vital to the planet, they also are pollinators. Thank you once again dear Herman for your kind and insightful comments on this image :) Hoping you have a Lovely Summer, Gail
  12. Thank you for your visit Patsy and for always taking the time to comment - hope the weather is treating you well down south ! Looking forward to your Butterfly images !

    Tiny Insect

Thanks to both of you - Kathy and Patsy for your visits and valuable input on this image. I imagine you are both very glad that Summer is finally here. I sure am !
  14. My sincere thanks to ALL OF YOU who have dropped by to express your appreciation of this Composition. It was a Labour of Love. Each one, you really have put a smile on my 'heart' for your lovely words of critique. Most Sincerely, Gail (I want to send this to Bill - but our email addresses got mixed up and while he commented on one of my images that he has emailed me - I have not received it - so grateful to him because he made this capture possible - wish I knew how to send a Message on this site :(
  15. Many thanks for your thoughts shared Pierre, Chris and Holger !! The crop was the hardest decision - but I liked the colours and textures :)
  16. Impressive capture - I have never been to England - so this for me is a treat. So much to see - such a bustle of activity but it is the Tower against the modern architecture to the left that really draw me in. Nice work !
  17. This is just 'cool' :) fabulous shot - the bold colours really catch the eyes and draw us into the texture of the wall which really adds to the dynamic !
  18. While there is so much to see in this shot - I am really drawn to the Condos/Apartments (?) and that old building to the right. The reflections are superb ! It is here where the skyscrapers really add to the capture. Excellent exposure and edit. Lovely to see a clear shot with such impressive colour and quality of light. Beautiful !

    Alien Under Ice

Very good eye for this street capture and of course you work in Elements really resulted in a fantastic Abstract !
  20. Good leading lines in this shot Holger. Love this POV . March always makes us long to put Winter behind us. Good crop and presentation my friend !
  21. Impressive Abstract Composition Holger !
  22. What a fabulous capture Holger. I would have been so excited upon viewing! It's almost like a double(or more) exposure ! Almost other worldly ! Bravo !

    Glowing Orchids

Nice work Holger ! It's always a bit of a learning curve with a new camera but you are finding the lay of the land quite quickly !! I love orchids !
  24. The rain that fell truly added to the multi dimensional impact of this image Holger. The reflections of what appear to be light trails leading to the many Lamp Post lights combined with the 'colour of the hour' has resulted in an impressive composition. You have such a good eye - you decide on your 'intent' and always follow through ! Beautiful !
  25. My kind of place !! The aesthetics wrap around you and transport you to another realm when a Restaurant takes the time to value all the patrons senses. It would be like being wrapped in 'Watercolour'. I've always liked these kind of paint finishes on walls.......not to mention the Van Gogh!! Excellent exposure and quality of light Holger !
