1.
I have been travelling in the same countries about 1 month each, and 95% of my photo were taken with 24-70 and 70-200. I had both 85 f/1.4 and 105mm along, but did only use the 85mm but could easily have used the 24-70 instead. Enjoy your trip there are numerous good locations in these countries. I have settled down i one of them -:)

 2.
I have a F90, which had the same issue, as it was stored in a warm and humid cabinet without much air-circulation.
I took it out and stored it on a shelf in the office, and it is fine again.

 3.
As previously suggested graphite using a "carpenter's pencil" which is relatively soft and a good size -:)

 4.
I just got my PC repaired and LR5 installed, however, all my plugins have gone and I
cannot get them installed correctly pt. Howard M. thank you I will definitely try this,
when I have found a reliable expert to install the plugins. -:)

 5.
I used the above software many years ago, when I had D300 and only took photos in jpg. I am now interested in a software, which can handle the NEF (D810-700), TIFF and DNG, PSd.
Any with knowledge of such software?

 6.
The first 2 weeks after I got the D810 - also upgraded from D700 - I did not take any serious photos as none of them were in focus! But since the heavy practising I am extremely happy with its performance, it 'just' require a somewhat different technic since the physical handling of the camera is more or less as the D700 - the reason I got D810 instead of D750, which every thing equal would have been sufficient for me

 8.
I have today received the following from Nikon Denmark:
The method with the 2 buttons is functioning perfectly, provided it is fulfilled correctly.

Do the following: keep the 2 buttons down until the word FOR starts blinking in the topdisplay. Release the buttoms and press both of them again a few seconds,
then the memory card has been formated.
This method is valid for all Nikon DSLR, provided that the camera has the 2 buttoms marked "Format".

If there is 2 memory cards in the camera, then it is only the memory card, which has been set to primary card, which will be formatted by using this method.
In this case the best solution is to format the memory card(s) via the menu.
unquote
This just for information.

 9.
I have just tried a friends D700 and my own D300 and 700 and contacted others, who have these cameras and they behave exactly as mine! However, I learned that when using the 2 buttoms simultaneously, you wait until the top display shows the blinking FOR and then press one time more, then it format the memory card and delete the photos, as if it had been formatted via the menu. They admit, it had been learned from a video, as nothing of it is mentioned in the manual. Cameras have been purchased in Europe and Asia. Could it be different software installed originally?
The issue is solved, but I am a little puzzled, that members of PN says the 2 functions are exactly the same, and others have found a function, which is not even mentioned in the manual -:)

 10.
Sorry I was referring to the D810 as mentioned in the heading. the 200-400mm f/4 is likely not available off the shelves in Vietnam due to the price even the cheaper price.

 11.
The net price in UK is GBP 2,299 equal to USD 3,550 - is that correct??
A new one in Ho Chi Minh City is USD 2,435 !!

 12.
Thank you - I was just wondering due to the time of formatting.

 13.
What is the difference of formatting the cards using the menu and the 2 bottom format. The latter takes more than double the time.

 14.
Could Nikon change the D4S in some year only to use XQD cards by changing the software and by using an adoptor? They may, however, not be so interested, as the prefer to sell some upgraded D4S models instead, but I assume that even professional photographers/medias will look at their money at that time.

 15.
Sorry I could have missed one piece of information, which I overlooked, and which has caused me problems on my D700.
I had an external GPS attached to the 10-pin plug and when I re-installed the same original software I left the GPS attached - by an oversight, which may be the reason for the failure on the D810!
This is a cheap Chinese GPS, whereas the one, which gave me problems was a USD 290 unit, which I used on both my D700 and D300. The GPS data were excellent, but after a half day's connection the LCD screen was black when trying to see the menu or display a photo.
I am positive it has had something to do with the 10-pin plug, but now I am a happy man again -:)

 16.
Shun Cheung I agree with your comments, but I have to admit, that I have no idea about software or what is inside the camera, however, I will promise to revert, if/when the issue happens again.

 17.
Sorry for my late reply - I have been on my monthly photo trip -:)
I can confirm it must have been a firmware issue, as a reinstallation of the software solved the 'problem'.
I am happy that it was only a minor issue. It is not functioning exactly in the same manner as my D700.
Thank you for your assistance.

 18.
Dieter Schaefer - thank you for pointing me to the exact place. I only looked at the link provided by B&H in an email, where it is not mentioned, and the lens hood is shown separately at a price of USD 61.95. I do hope that "in the box" is correct -:)

 19.
Dieter Schaefer I cannot see it from the Nikon USA website, and I got it from:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Nikon-300mm/ci/27022/N/3830081492

 20.
And the lens hood is not included in the price ! Now Nikon copy Canon is that respect

 21.
Thanks for your comments - Rodeo Joe you have understood the questions correct (sorry for my bad English). I had also been through what I through all items in the menu - I think, for what reason I asked here. I will have to contact Nikon Service Center in Ho Chi Minh City to see, if they have a solution to it.
Happy New Year to all members of PN.

 22.
I am coming from D700 (still have it) to D810 and note, that when I display a photo on the LCD and after x seconds it is switch off, and and then want to display it again, I have to press the shutter button half, as otherwise I can display/use the LCD screen again. I cannot find any settings to avoid this - is it possible?

 23.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and a great 2015
