Very interesting shot. The composition is faboulous and the colors bright (was there a filter involved?. I love the soft white moon as a counter point to the sharp, almost-silhouette of the man and his nets.

Whatever manipulation to the tones has or hasn't been done by the photographer, it hasn't altered the fundamentals of the image, and I think the effect is very painterly. I think that this type of photography links back to the discipline of oil painting and other "arts of inclusion" joining together the image captured by the film/sensor and the image envisoned by the artist. Beautiful work.

I think it's a great shot as-is; I'm not a fan of the vingnette. The light and background is beautiful. Perhaps burn in the corners just a little to focus attention, but nothing so extreme as the vingette posted.

I like the flare - I think its adds interest and energy to the scene. Blocking it out, the photo is pretty but kind of boring. The sun add that little extra something. The only critique I have is that the colors seem a bit green-shifted. But I love the sense of cold quiet in the snow (I miss Minnesota, this reminds me of it).

Makes me miss the Midwest...

I can feel the chill and the hot tea in my hand. An incredible moment you've caught here - not only the light, but the positions of the people, the look over the shoulder. 7/6 (which I don't give lightly).

I love how you've found beauty in a flood. The brown and the blue, and the pale, washed out colors make it look handpainted.

When I first saw this, I thought it was a photojournalism shot of photojournalists; I grinned, though, because of the expressions. When I read the caption, though, I realized that this was actually a photo of the subjects. A great capture.

This is brilliantly creative. It's so rare that I see a photo that captures time and space so well, and also is so strongly composed. Thanks for sharing your vision with us.

This is a great moment that captures the everyday activities that are universal - but with unique cultural details.
I think that this image could use some minor touch ups. A square crop would put more emphasis on the man's face (rather than back) and some adjustments to levels, color balance, sharpening, plus some dodge/burn to darken the background a little, would show this image off to the best effect. What do you think?

I think that the background adds a lot to this shot. Its texture and age matches that of the subject's face, and the color contrasts with the red of her clothing. A great catch.

Very cute shot - were you leaving space on the right for text? If not, I think this would also work well as a square crop. Nice lighting and dynamics.

I like the warm light and tones, but she seems trapped in that tight crop. Was this the full frame, or did you cut some off? I'd especially like to see some more space above her head and off to the left (where she's looking).

I've seen very few IR shots that I really like...this is one of them. Great composition and use of IR's lightening/darkening effects.

At first glance, I though it was a desert, like something out of Dune. Crop off the bottom 1/4, and it could be a desert. Lovely colors, almost surreal.

I like the waves in the foreground, but the sky seems a bit washed out. Have you thought of darkening it a bit?
