hey you guys rock (as the young folks say) , thanks. my tendency is to saturate images, and occassionally i have to fight that. this is a tad more drab than what i would've chosen for myself.
but my fortuitous success was with the hirosige kind-of wood block contrasting line across the foreground. on the other hand, i was also considering a 'blue' version.
thanks amis. if you were here, i'd buy you a beer.

yes sir, a lot of the photo-factors coalesced here to make a striking composition, all of it accentuating the subject. as far as your title though, the gender may indeed be 'girl', but the species is 'fox'. ;-)

this one does have an amazing confluence of beautiful colors and lines. oh, and textures too. well taken. bravo.

hi denise! lovely seeing you 'round my page. well, it IS on an online gallery, my 'artist rising' page-- buried in total obscurity with 11 million other works of art. such is marketing these days-- very daunting and very humbling. anyway, i was tired of painting birds, but still working on a 'spec' project for bird watcher's digest, so i felt like painting a bison, but had to put a bird in it somehow.
i remembered (and attached) a gorgeous painting by one of my heroes rod frederick that was an inspiration for this piece. thanks again!

thanks oskar and cynthia! pretty rough night at "the ratings", so special thanks for dropping by!

tom is right: the lighting is rich and very special. one can imagine more riveting combinations of pedestrians-- but you likely had to shot when you could. excellent architectural.
-
whatever ya wanta say. thanks.

hi cynthia; thanks for looking. not that it matters much, but the model is a coyote-- pretty lonely probably, but she'll feel better when she hooks up with a duck or maybe a vole. and she IS painted into the picture.
i'm wishing now i'd painted more detail into the foreground water.
-
very nice pic with a rich variety of tones and converging lines. the most interesting aspect is that the model's expression is significantly mirrored in the faces of the paintings: the brooding intensity, arcing brows, pouty lips, etc. bravo for a creative image-- i'm glad lots of the upper curtain was included, and, of course below: the alluring bare knees. cheers.

great contrast and textures. a world class window certainly!

very nice photo, strong abstract elements draw us in; nice tones and DOF.
not to be TOO political, mind you, but i'd humbly suggest putting a red slash through that 'W'. ;-) cheers.

this one tells an elegant story. the placement of the black on glowing bronze is gorgeous. the slight blur captures the movement. one wonders if still more telling details might have been recorded higher in the picture-- in the silhouetted heads of the subjects? still, compositionally, it's a great success of color and abstraction. bravo.

your correct, mike: it's that two toned jacket he's wearing, i get it now. killer pic.
-
nice shot, the riveting model augments your great layout times ten. i'm not sure what's going on over his right shoulder-- it defines the shoulder i know, but i'd consider instead letting the model emerge from total black.

for such a dank and disreputable spot, the image has a nice richness, even warmth and humor. in fact, by it's expression i believe the old voiture is enjoying it's retirement.

great griffon! wow, wonderful light: the palpable wing feathers are like shingles on an old barn. groovy shot, as are all of your pics!

gorgeous magical shot. begging your pardon, but the image is so cool that i just had to download it and tinker with it. the main thing that intrigued me was the possibility of blurring the ducks. while i was at it, i cut the color and added the texture layer. just a different look. thanks for posting a very unique shot-- and for indulging me.
-
very painterly-- hard to express why, just very winslow homer. groovy!
-
pretty sweet image. good balance, interest and color. i would respectfully suggest adding another layer, very subtle in opacity, over the background but obviously behind the flower--with perhaps some more leaves and matching flowers-- just to lend a bit more plausibility. very nice bird. cheers.
-
looks like a fascinating image that i'd love to visually explore, but it's too small to fully appreciate. i respectfully suggest submitting a larger sample.
-
excellent compelling image (and title). one aspect that bothers me-- tho nothing can be done about it-- is that the model's ear is so oddly colored that it creates a moment of confusion trying to resolve the image. aside from that, very captivating gaze. cool.
