  1. <p>Sounds like you are set to <em>Dual Display Clone. </em></p>

    <table border="0">

    <tbody>

    <tr>

    <td><ol>

    <li >Right click on Desktop</li>

    <li >Click on Properties</li>

    <li >Click the Display tab</li>

    <li >Settings. Click on "2" and check the box that says "extend the desktop".</li>

    <li >Click on 2 if you don't want the screens to clone.</li>

    <li >"Advanced" Tab. </li>

    <li >"Displays". Pick which will be primary and secondary under Advanced.</li>

    </ol> You might also try starting up with the second monitor disconnected, then reconnect and see if you can set it up to extend to the external monitor.</td>

    </tr>

    </tbody>

    </table>

  2. Where filter holder systems have problems is with wide angle lenses. So to see if the Cokin P system will work you need to check your widest lenses. The p system works on lenses up to 82mm filter ring. I use the p system with my large format and RB 67 systems. I do not use very wide lenses though.
  3. If you have the lens on the RB set to mirror up, when you fire the body the back will flag the frame as being exposed, so you can advance it. But it will not be exposed unless you trip the shutter on the lens.

    I would check the mirror up knob on the lens.

  4. According to the ask perou section he is using a combination of film and medium format digital cameras.

    "i still shoot film on anything that's is daylit on location.

    can hardly tell the difference between film and the digital i shoot (phase 1 p30+ back on hasselblad h2d) on artificially lit shots.

    very annoying of course as people still want their digital to look like film.

    and as such, it's a false economy: people want you to shoot digital so they don't have to pay for film and processing.

    but then they have to pay to have it retouched.

    quicker and easier (if you have some appropriate old school skills) to shoot on film.

    i'm not the Luddite i was.

    but as before i'm using the right camera and format to suit the job.

    i don't care about how it's achieved, i just care abou the end result.

    next week at edinburgh, i'll be shooting some live theatre on my canon 1dsmkII. "

    The biggest thing i see is the the use of proper exposure and the use of light. Which is always more paramount than finding a camera to get the look, learn to use light to get the look you want.

  5. "Smaller photo-receptor means the same motion that only affected one pixel in the previous gen of sensor is now an issue, since the same motion will affect 2 pixels. "

    How can you move only one pixel in the camera? The issue is that all of the pixels are in motion as the camera isn't steady as you take the picture, the blur comes from the movement of the camera during the exposure.

    And 1/focal length is just a rough guideline, some people are more stable than others when using a camera. The camera being used also affects, i don't think i can hand hold my 4x5 monorail at any shutter speed.
