Question #1: What was the reason you pressed the shutter? The mountain? The reflection? If the answer is yes to either one- crop out the foreground. Also take a little off the sky too. Great shot but clean it up a little and it will be great! Good Luck Chris

What I like about this image the mystery factor. Sure it could be cropped or straighten but the ackward angle of the window and the rustic/aged feel of the shed ties together. Maybe a polarizer could have helped with glare off the leaves but really me eye goes into the window and wants to see deeper inside- the mystery part for me. The feeling overcomes the any small short comings you may see. Chris

As Galen Rowell would agree- you can visit the same place over and over -- each time it will produce different photos. The light is never the same. Each of these is outstanding. I really liked the 'wide-angle' post as well. Chris

I do not know how it could be done any better- this is outstanding- the play of colors, shapes, textures, lines it almost looks fake. Another great capture- keep them coming. Chris

Great idea and the exposure is right on! To get a little critical- crop the right side to remove the brown thing- you probably missed it since the rest of the image is so strong. Very neat idea! Chris

A very small gorge next to Linville Falls with it's own mini waterfall. I very
neat place often overlooked by the visitors to Linville Falls...Enjoy

Another vote for including the top of the building OR croping out the entire profile of the building so we are left with just the doors. It appears that you are standing slightly left of center- try and get centered since you have so many vertical lines. Also crop out the bottom stumps and things- distracts from the doors as the subject. Clone the light out too- does not add to doors and the oars.

My comment would be if the building is what made you get the camera out- feature it more. The sky does not add to the story here. Crop the sky just above the top of the building or re-shoot. If you go back try a wide angle lens and get close. Then even point the lens slightly down to add emphasis to your foreground try and see what happens, I think you like more. Good luck! Chris

I am big fan of your landscapes of the park. This one looks like it was shot in the noon sun or mid day? The sharpness is not where your other positings are usually. Any ideas beyond the mid day sun? I'll check back to see what post. Composition is fairly good- the brown tree in the tree line sticks out a little. I hope this helps...Chris

I can hear it now! Another great capture with this one. The forest comes alive after a long sleepy winter. Very nice! Chris

A very nice travel snapshot of the area. Chris

I really like old rusty things for subjects too- you found a nice subject here. I think it could work well in B&W too. Very nice in color as well.

Taken at Sol Duc Falls last week at Olympic National Park in
Washington state. The volume of water is higher than normal for this
time of year and notice the patch of snow still on the ground this late in
the year. A truly outstanding location for photography, comments are
welcome. Chris

Taken on a rainy May morning, with lots of water going over the falls.
Thanks for viewing! Chris

For the most part as stated before- technically a sound shot. A little more bokeh in background would help but then you need a better lens as suggested. Centering your focal point is not always the best thing. The squrrel could have been in the right third of the image- your eyes move left to right. The way you set this shot up- my eyes go immediately to the center and no where else. You will have images that require focus from front to back or left to right or up and down. Just some ideas to consider. Crop some of the edges here could help.

Very good, the reflection and the balance between both rocks is really special. Nice capture! Chris

I can feel the anger in the sky- very nice! Chris

This image really works on some many levels- color, shape, balance, etc...Very nicely done- I stopped right away on this-caught me eye! I have so many ideas coming to mind by viewing this- great job! Chris

This eagle is tough to get a good photo of since he/she is missing a wing. Just a note on the quality- it appears that this may be a crop of a photo- the pixels look fuzzy especially in white area- may need some sharpening. I live about 1.5 hours from here and love the whole experience Granfather Mountain is all about. Drove by last week on the parkway and it was beautiful as always. Good luck! Chris

Once again a great capture of a beautiful place. Chris

The composition on this looks great, still not sure about the 'old' rugged look since I guess the unmanipulated one probably looks fairly good. Very nice still the way you have it here. Chris

For me the tree stump laying the water detracts from the waterfall. The waterfall is where my eyes are drawn to as the focal point. Just my impression, I hope this helps. Chris

I think the sky could have been helped with a circ polarizer? Otherwise really a good image. Good luck! Chris
