    Tailor

Another beautiful portrait in his work environment, Mahmet.  The colors -- particularly of the threads and pants -- really pop beautifully.  He has a fabulous expression on his face -- focused and looking content.

    A New Rider

A relaxed-looking horse with the head down, making a nice silhouette against the outside greenery.  Has a horsey feel.

    Portrait-143

    Striking portrait.
  4. Tony, I agree with the words of Holger and Wayne. It touches a chord in me too. I like the composition so much -- the aide behind person in the front and the man with a back issue behind and the b&w presentation. The window with trees in the background is so perfect, acting as a boundary of inner and outer life their bodies, minds, and souls -- something everyone could relate to. This is very touching, particularly in a society where people are thrown away for needing help. To me, it is a center of humanity.

    Petey Boy

A very belated, heartfelt and appreciative thank you to Tony, Jeff, Ruud, Pierre, Mari, Mehmet, Gail, and Alf. Tony, I had a childhood like you describe -- also pumped high on the swing and climbed and swung on vines and the woods.  So much more fun than text messaging of today's youth! Jeff, I like your interpretation, and it made me smile! Ruud -- miss your work!!!  I'm not on Facebook Mari, it was a yellow swing, creeky and fun.   Pierre, Thanks!  I love looking at your work. Thank you Mehmet. Gail, long time... definitely angst here. Alf, that an astute observation, and I think it's right.  I know him much better as an adult than I did when he and I were children (me several years younger).  Not the first time I had trouble with time warp in faces of subjects I've sketched.  It's still hard for me to see a too-mature face on this.  You certainly am making me thinking about this stuff.  Your comment is fascinating.

    Houdoor (View Large)

This is a beautiful composition, Alf. There is a lot of life in -- so many things happening. I especially adore the sense of burning hot from the sun against the cool grey clouds. It is so effective especially with the V shapes leading the eyes from the burning water out into the hot, dry mountains and beyond. The sharp vegetation punctuates texturally and with soothing green colors. Feels hopeful.

    shoe repairer

Beautiful!  An artisan in his store -- mid work -- shoe repair tools and shoes and boots surrounding him.  Also,  the colors really pop.
  11. Hmmm..  what he is thinking? And the light in his hair and beautiful eyes, and the green of his shirt all pop. A fabulous photograph!
  12. So glad you did not pump up the colors. Lovely second photo as well.
  13. Definitely a cool name.  It is literally like boating through and in color -- must have been a wonderful feeling.

    Memories

Feels so close that my nose can deeply inhale this fragrance. I love the deep, rich color. I nice way to think of memories.

    Beacon

Gorgeous, Alf. I love the light warming various portions of this composition... and the paths... and the rocks and pools of water. This is rugged and exhilarating. There are so many directions of movement here and interesting landscape. A special place indeed, where the viewer could imagine herself in a medley of spots. A read your interview. Congratulations! I enjoyed it very much
  20. I wonder if this exercise works. Certainly caught my attention.
  21. The light on the second image tree is gorgeous. I also just gaze in awe.

    Atardecer

The sky is awesome, and the branches act as a very pretty scree. I love what the fence does for this composition as well.
  23. Very pretty. The light is awesome, and the delicate branches and broken up clouds and log in the water further makes this composition nice
  24. You've made a sale with me. They look tempting!
