  1. M246 and 24mm f3.8 Elmar-M, at f4 this morning.
  2. MP240 and 28mm f2 Summicron ASPH, along White Rock Creek.
  3. Two with the 75mm f2 APO Summicron M with an MP240 from today. First at the lake this morning. The second later in the day, with an SF60 flash in TTL mode and a Demb bounce attachment used as a diffusor, at f5.6 and 1/125 second.
  4. MP240 and 28mm f2 Summicron ASPH, Version 1.
  5. MP240 and 50mm f2 Summicron (version 4).
  6. Of all the sites I never thought would go away, that one was the least expected to do so. I never would have even considered it might. Amazon giveth, Amazon taketh away. If only Amazon would do the same….
  7. Beautiful light early this morning at White Rock Lake, with the MP240. 90mm f2.8 Elmarit-M. 50mm f2 Summicron-M, Version 5. 90mm f2.8 Elmarit-M. 28mm f2 Summicron ASPH.
  8. MP240 and 35mm f1.4 FLE. 135mm f3.4 APO Telyt-M. and 75mm f2 APO Summicron-M.
  9. I would imagine at least some partial blame (or reason why not affected) can/could be placed on how the many cameras were stored over time. Hard to know the answer to that question when contemplating a classic camera to pick up for use today. Some show the look while others don’t or are made to appear otherwise.
  10. Couple of images using the 90mm f2 APO Summicron-M on the M246 Monochrome.
  11. Pop Photo reviewed the Heliar in the early 2000’s as one of the sharpest lenses ever tested. Going just by the numbers, the Heliar is the sharper of the two. I’m assuming the f2.8 Elmar being asked about to is the more recent version and not the one from the M3/M2 era. Given the choice today with my digital M’s, I’d be looking for a more recent Elmar that’s already 6 bit coded or have it coded after buying.
  12. From wide, with the MP240 and 18mm f3.8 Super Elmar.. To the tele, with the 135mm f3.4 APO Telyt-M.
  13. I know, in theory, they’re all supposed to stay locked down but I’ve seen Vitessa’s, after 65-70 years of on and off use where the plunger did not remain locked down with the doors closed; my question was more just for the OP and his unit. Was one of the first questions I asked anyone regarding a Vitessa I was possibly interested in buying.
  14. Misc architecture in Dallas today (2/23/23) with the M246 Monochrome and 75mm f2 APO Summicron-M.
  15. Does the plunger stay locked down when you close the clamshell doors to store the camera and push the plunger in? Vitessa’s were high-end models and that’s a nice, late one with the most desirable lens fitted.
  16. M246 and 135mm f3.4 APO Telyt-M, wide open and with a dark red filter.
  17. M246 Monochrome and 50mm f2 Summicron (V 5), fitted with a B+W yellow filter..
  18. Check with Mark Hansen.. http://www.zeissikonrolleirepair.com/index.html
  19. A $100 budget won't get any camera repaired.
  20. Thanks Arthur. Like many cities decades ago, Dallas was once full of street car routes. The one here, the only one left, runs through a popular area of the central business/arts district. It's a fun way to get around for visitors and even locals interested in slowing down a little bit, for once.
  21. One in color to go along with the earlier monochrome M246 entry; this with the M262 and 35mm f1.4 FLE, "M-Line", Dallas, Texas.
  22. After as long as 34 years and who knows how many different owners/users, the cause could be just about as varied and unknown by now.
