  1. For such a simple picture there is a lot going on here. I like the mysterious man on the tractor in the window. I think that the handlebars actually create a bit of a frame of the two guys and creates a separation of them and the guy on the tractor. Nicely done

I think a lot of people overdo the HDR thing and use it for inappropriate subjects, but I think you have made good use of it here as the house and the textures of it make a very interesting subject. It is all very well exposed and a very beautiful shot. I love all the old stuff in our world, it has an often untold and mysterious story behind it. I have been shooting old abandoned buildings and such for a while and I have a section in my portfolio of them. Great shot!

This is a beautiful night shot. Very well balanced lighting, with the exception of the blown out part at the top of the older building. I would like to see more detail in that, which I suppose would be next to impossible without multiple blended exposures. The colors in the foreground are very nice as well. Overall a very well balanced shot of a beautiful city.
  2. Wow! This is a fantastic shot. The lighting is great. The clouds are great and the highlights in the foreground are perfect. this is a good crop too. The clouds overhead must have been awesome too as evidenced by the light that they have let through in the foreground.
  3. Very nice shot. I would like to see a slight bit more detail in the shadows. Great sunset. I find your comment above about the big waves humorous as we (yes I'm from Cali too, monterey to be exact) just had some of the biggest waves ever seen in the area in the beginning of the week. They were amazing.
  4. Very nice composition and the lighting is fantastic. I really like this shot. It has a very old world feel about it. The texture of the building materials works well too and adds to the frame. Very good.

Very nice shot. I think that the colors and converging lines of the sky and foreground work well together. I'm not sure but I think it may work well also to go with a little more foreground and a little less sky (horizon a little higher in the frame). Just a thought. Very nice
  5. This is a great occupational portrait. The colors of the drums work well with his faded coveralls and his skin tone. It looks like he's put in a lot of hard years. The only thing I think would be interesting is to see how it would look if the top white part were cropped out so that it is nothing but barrels and the ground. Very nice shot.

Ok, it's very obvious that the birds in this photo are the same ones from the giraffe shot. Which ones are the real ones? I know you got a lot of criticism for the giraffe shot but now you've made it more obvious that one or both of these are not original.

Diana, to clarify...no I don't think a subject must look natural to be a good photo. You know what they say about beauty and art that it is in the eye of the beholder. Based on your image I assumed you were looking for a rather natural looking shot. I think it's a great picture with room for improvement (I think that's why we're all here). Lord knows that most of my shots could use improvements as well. Just sharing my opinions.

I like the composition but for my taste I think the color is too saturated and the contrast is very high. It doesn't look natural to me. Just my opinion.
