Not too often I get to make the first critique of a shot this nice. This is a very well exposed shot and I wonder if it is HDR? If so it is very well done, if not then it is one hell of a great capture. Either way I really like it. The sky had great texture to it. Very ominous. The rocks too have great texture and detail and the wooshing (ok not really a word) water is great. The lines on the lower most rock really lead the eyes through the picture. Very nice composition. Great picture! I think I do see a slight bit of a white line around the uppermost edge of the ridge where it meets the sky. May just be me. I would love to see this in a full size shot.

This is certainly one of my favorites of yours. Spectacular. The lighting is so intense. What a mystical place. Very nice work here!

This is fantastic. I think you got it just right on this one. Very nice balance here and the water was exposed for just the right amount of time to still have good texture to it. The greens mixed in with the rocky hillside is very nice and the hill disapearing into the clouds adds a mysterious feeling to it. Looks like a scene from "Lord of the Rings"

I hate to be the only somewhat negative comment here but...I think perhaps your HDR technique is just a tad bit intense with this one. Many of your others I think you nailed perfectly but this one I think is just a bit much. Don't get me wrong it is an absolutely stunning photograph and I do like it very much. I think maybe it's just in the foliage that's bugging me and maybe the intensity of the red barn. I think the cliffs, the water, and the clouds are all perfect. Overall a very good job indeed.

That's a painting. Did you feel like a nucklehead standing there taking that. I know I did, but it's just something you gotta do. Of course for all the times I've seen this shot no two have been exactly the same. I heard a rumor about some little red bridge up by S.F. I think I'll go take a picture. Nice shot

He looks like a happy fat guy at a killer Babbitt Buffet.

I have had a hard time taking several HDR images into a panorama. If I remember I had issues with the the lighting in the sky being even. You've done a very nice job here.

Isn't it great to get out and photograph on the kind of day that most sane people don't want to leave the house? This one I think borders on obvious HDR but is still tastefully done. I think that sometimes this technique is difficult to hide due to the fact that we have been so conditioned over the past century or so of what a photo looks like from film. Now that we have new technology it is presenting us with techniques that we have not seen in the past so as always we are naturally resistant to change. This is a beautiful shot though and does have an interesting feel to it being such an empty square. Just gotta hate tourists even more when you see a great shot like this with nobody in it.

I think this is one of the most tasteful and properly used example of HDR that I have yet seen. I don't think it was designed to make a picture look like a freakin' cartoon. I think that if used properly people should either not know it was used or at the very least have some doubt in there mind. So often it is too obvious. However, I have seen a couple (and probably only a couple) where the subject was just right and the colors were that which made a heavy use of HDR "acceptable" to me. This is perfect. The average layperson would have no idea that something was "fishy" about this shot. A photographer knows that it's pretty much impossible to expose all of this properly in one shot without one hell of a lighting setup but you've kept it far from obvious. Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Very well exposed image. Yes you can still see the detail of the lead in the windows which is very important here I think. I find it interesting here that the white balance on the two walls are very different. One side is warmer than the other. I suppose this is due to one side being in the direct light and the other being in the shade. I don't think it detracts from the image I just thought it was interesting and noteworthy.

Yes this is what HDR should be like. It is so often abused and misused. I am just beginning to experiment with it and it is not so easy to get a good result that doesn't just look downright phony. Very nice work and thanks for the presentation.

I think this is a fantastic shot. I don't mind the tree stump in the foreground I agree that it does add a certain amount of depth to the shot. Brilliant sky. Also I enjoyed the rest of your portfolio as well. Very well done.

This is a very nice shot. I love the contrast of the gold against the blue sky with not much in between. The detail in the wheat is great too. Very nice shot. Makes me want to run through the field.

Very nice shot and I think that the HDR works well here but I do agree with the others about the blue and red that they do demand a lot of attention. Other than that I think you have a magnificent shot here. Very nice.

This is a fantastic shot. I love the foreground texture and what looks to be frost on the ground. Very mystical shot.Looks like something from a scary movie. The colors are great and the sharpness is good too. Wonderful.

Simon, I'm trying to figure out if this is a "true" image or a blend of multiple. Not that it matters, it is beautiful. I am leaning towards thinking that this is indeed a real bridge found right where it is. It looks like a road or waterway running under it. Is this all ice around it? This is a great shot. The lighting and colors are all very simple and muted and that works well here. The rock also adds an element to it so that it is not all just about the bridge. It looks very cold. Very nice shot. Well done.
