the late light is so interestingly bringing to color to reach their best quality....
-
...and let me add....he still looks energetic...music is like image..it's all about the mood and feeling the pieces convey...
-
I like this image very much Linda....the colors, the balance and the distant cold blue outside, it has visual energy...don't ask me why but I am attracted to mundane subject well captured...
-
Circonstances sometimes are fabulous....I am glad you take the time to record those little wonders that make me smile and enjoy...
I take the opportunity to wish you a nice Xmas period Laurent...and the best start in 2010...
-
that's the color fiesta that I enjoy in this picture...beside the human appeal, the woman's head provide that little anchor that my silly mind always apreciate to help structre the picture around...a little bit of crowd in the BG also help to add context...all those elements together define the picture as documentary...a very nice color documentary....
Just passing by like the wind Linda to wish you a wonderful Xmas period...and the best start in 2010...
-
I really like the mood Pierre....the house looks frightening but the sparrow looks funny...and it's this tension between the two that makes me apreciate the image...
I wish you a superb Xmas period and the best start in 2010...
-
that's the geometry I enjoy most here...the few color that exists makes it a bit warmer than the cold geometric element would suggest on a BW version...
-
the white balance is totally wrong and I'll put you an anonymous 3/3 on that sole basis if I was not a fan of color that appreciate fully that one can play with all parameters to get an original picture were a lady's hair share a greenish ressemblance to a cafe table...
yes, it's essential to play...even if with the impromptu you'll never know...
Jack, I wish you a superb Xmas period and the best start in 2010...it's been refreshing to follow your images ( and comments) and I look forward for more...

It's troubling for me that I come upon this image of yours just a few days after Fred and John refered me to the work of David Hockney with its photographic collage...very interesting Jack...the reality packed in slices...
-
well sometimes a blurred meaning that stays open is better than an exact meaning that is all too precise...
-
the splashes of colors here and there...well in fact not "here and there" at random since they organise the image by working cooperatively...
-
for me the color and compo makes it a bit psychedelic...evocating the frenzy of Xmas in which we all are to some extent and that's the reason I pass by like the wind to wish you...well you know what...and all the best for 2010...
-
you called it winter...but it undoubtly feels warm...trees have this strongness and quietness evocation power...if only our societies took trees as an example for growing, instead I sometimes have the impression of lemmings...
I wish you a nice Xmas period Jeff and a fruitful 2010....
-
selling the dream...framed by the beige on both sides....
I want to take this opportunity to wish you a nice Xmas period, and the best start in 2010...look forward for new exchanges that next year will undoubtly provide...
-
I see it something like the rat and the dragon...sounds like a tale of my childhood like the "frog and the steer", "the crow and the fox"...did not know the movie....every one comes with its own reference....
David I wish you a superb Xmas period for you and yours...and the best start in 2010...
-
the juxtaposition is so good...one of this little everyday treasure...thanks for the smile David...
-
the mix of day and artificial light (with your treatment) makes it original...it looks like the entrance of a cavern...every society ancient or modern has is own cavern...
-
the reflection is quite puzzling..I am still trying to figure out how and why we have that reflection above...confusion and little mind game is something I really enjoy in this kind of image...not to mention the popping red in the dark...
-
the color mix is what strike me most here...the fact that it is hard to understand what it is (probably a tinted glass bottle or carafe) makes it an even better visual experience to appreciate the colors...
-
I like the color and light that gives a lot of volume feel and texture to this image...I am a fan of daily subject (to be direct banal ones) treated with curiosity and originality...I always thought that after a while (of course some dedication and technique) anybody can produce good images of photogenic subjects ...that's why I like the banal subjects so much...it really forces to get rid of the "I have seen it all mood" and try to see and capture the beauty and/or originality of the everyday when it appear...and when you succed like here...it's even more rewarding...
It's been really interesting and fun to follow your image series (even if I don't have all the time I wish to contribute with more comments) and I look forward to continue...I wish you a wonderful Xmas period with friends and family and a good start in 2010...

A great kid street portrait Pnina....I like the natural mood so much...the color mix (with the background) help create a sweet and smooth mood that suits the portrait very well...
-
I like the suite of 3 characters from the woman on the phone to the BW guy that seems to talk on the intermediate lady ears...and finally the worker in business as usual attitude totally indifferent...I know it's more easy to say than do but I think this image could have benefited from a closer distance, i.e. shorter focal to engage the viewer.
-
Is this Paris Hilton ?....are you paparazing Pnina ?...if it's her, I wonder what kind of Brand might benefit from using Paris as Egerie, well probably her own brand...I like the contrast between the apparent glamour of the picture and the cheap relfection on the car surface that bring the glamour back to reality...
-
the back light through dust create a magical mood I really enjoy in this photo...your toning choice makes it like a photo of the 30-40's or something...photography is such a nostalgic medium if I dare make philosophy for one second...
