Bhavesh, do you shoot RAW ? iso 6400 at that size, maybe if you had perfect exposure, depends on the shot. I print 24 x 36 with my 5D2 but not at those ISO's. Turn of the gimmicks and do it in PP, 3 is not high for sharpening, ALO can be done in post, along with noise reduction.

Thats a lot of dosh for a first camera for a 13yr old, have you considered the Rebel, lighter and less expensive, but very good. Would help if you told us what you like to shoot.

Just use 12 x 18 centered on 13 x 19 paper in a 13 x 19 binder, problem solved, don't crop if you don't need to.

Go with the Canon 24-70 and save for the 5D, that is one amazing combo.

I think you will need to provide more info: PC? what calibration device ?

I wouldn't dump them in one folder, if you want use a different program later you will be in trouble.
I would keep the separate folders and maybe add dates to them and put them in a new catalog, maybe add dates to them, I usually add the month and date to the end of each folder 'location' title, then you can create collections.

I wouldn't be caught dead there without a 70-200, isolating some of those landscapes are great

I say if you can get the focal length you want in EF, go that route, when you go full frame later you will be set.

I would prefer the 50D, unless you need video and for that be prepared for the right software and computer. 50D has plenty of resolution for wedding work, better build and menus rear scroll wheel.

Well I also hope for less MP, thats why I no longer own a 1.6x, and wont until Canon improves low iso noise, you should be able to get a perfectly clean image at base iso and a nicely clean image at 1600, I dont need 25-100k iso, I also would like to see about 12mp on a killer sensor rather than 18mp on a good sensor

Use IS, and don't view your images at 100% from your 500D, because you are looking even closer than your 350D at 100%, new cameras also take a little time to get used to

Image stabilization, fast shutter speed, maybe higher ISO's, wide apertures, steady hand, if its landscape not much will help, when the light is good its low in the sky and iso 100k still wont cut it.

Looks like its on the sensor to me, I have seen similar on my 5D2

I have a catalog for each year, broken into folders by month and year, and in each of those folders I have a small folder with my select images, those will get final editing in CS4 and for viewing I currently use Photo Mechanic (on a Mac) on a PC I would use ACDsee Pro for viewing, export to CS4 for printing, simple and effective for me. all on external drives.

Do some serious reading including this book Understanding Exposure use your camera, get a decent tripod if you are going to do landscapes, read, read, read, shoot, shoot and shoot some more, then upgrade your equipment, a couple of good landscape lenes would be efs 10-22 and efs 17-55, lenses are more important than bodies. Maybe take a look at Lightroom the computer end of this is pretty important.
Ross

Great camera, if you want to shoot sports and BIF consider a used 1 series, I've seen 1D3's going for $2200 or a 7D $1700, if you only shoot a little BIF (better have a long lens, 400mm or better) the 5D2 will be fine, it arguably has the best IQ of any anon camera. I love mine.

Get the 5D, I have had both and the 5D is hands down better IQ.

-

Use the Lee holder and filters, they are top notch, get a set of .45, .6 and .9 soft GND's with the foundation kit and adapter ring.

-

I secound what M. Young said, 24-105 f4 IS L is a great walk around and landscape lens and will work later when you decide to upgrade to full frame.

The Mk II has a large capacity to crop an image, live view works very well and has become a valuable tool to me, sensor cleaning and a much nicer LCD make it worth the upgrade to me, as well as the ability to print large. Also I have had zero problems with my 5DMkII, most of what you hear about problems are highly exaggerated. You should be able to get used 5D's for $1200 easy.

Well I have seen used 1DMkIII going for $2000 on CL, but I would rather have a 5DMkII, but then I like to print and FF is great for landscape work. If you hold off for 6 months and Canon announce the 1DsMkIV then 1DsMkIII will drop in price. I have seen used 1DsII going for around $2000 also.

I would rent before dropping cash on a Sigma system, I'm pretty happy with my 5D2 and L glass for landscape work, maybe you need a MF system.

Suzi is pretty darn good.

Canon5DMk2 - Shooting smaller file size
in Canon EOS Mount

Don't listen to KR first off, you are better off with more data in your images than needed than not enough, so shoot RAW, size to what you need and get a 1TB drive for $150. I love the large files, it also gives you huge crop abilities, you can crop a portrait shot out of a landscape shot and still print it at 17 x 24, you will like it.
