Thanks James. I took several shot of this pier with different angles and compositions. I do agree that a higher perspective benefited the scene. I did not use a grad nd for this. I used 3 exposures and manually blended them to achieve the dynamic range.

Kelly, you're right. You won't see the difference on small pics like this. Where the 1Ds MIII really shines is when you open a RAW file from it and hit that "Actual Pixels" button in Photoshop. I have a 30' Apple Cinema Display that can't even contain the full res photo. Viewing a photo at 100% and looking at all the tiny little details is where the 1Ds MIII shines. The 5D is still a great camera, don't get me wrong but the 1Ds MIII is almost twice the MPs. It really helps with larger prints and when it comes to cropping down.

Wow. Great super sharp shot. What camera and lens did you use?

Sorry, doesn't work well at all. I see what you're trying to do but this is a really bad attempt.

Very nice Kah. I just got the 1Ds Mark III as well. I'm very pleased with it although it reveals any minor flaw a lens may have. Did you use a flash on this shot?

Your work is right up there with Marc Adamus. I really need to come visit the Pac NW. Absolutely beautiful.

Might be your best shot that doesn't involve the sun. Really nothing at all to nitpick. A couple of questions: what was the focal length on this shot and is this one exposure or multiple?

Didn't this win NAPP's landscape/travle images award?

The exposure on this is just about perfect from top to bottom. Sharp as a tack too.
