Yes Yinka, I just converted to Mac a few months ago. I use Color Eyes Display Pro as my monitor calibrator. I see the hotspot you're talking about. It does appear hot here as the jpg, but not on the full res tif.

Okay, Walter I'm tired of seeing you smoke a cigar on your back porch. Get out there and shoot some scapes. ;)

The addition of the woman is makes this work so well. It would be an above average image without her. With her, it's a story. The muted colors adds to the story, giving it a dreamy look. The only thing that bothers me is her umbrella. It's the brightest object in the image, therefore it's commanding much more attention than it really should. I feel it would be better suited it the umbrella were the same tone as her dress.

Personally I think it's poorly composed and over cooked. Know when to hold back.

Awesome. Everyting about this works well for me.

Let me be different and state that I think this is a horrible job. The composition is boring, there's really no dynamic range. It's HDR with no DR. You have a totally blown out spot in the upper middle and the darks are almost black. There are tons of dust spots in the sky. I just don't see what others see in this. Am I missing somthing?

Not so sure I agree with Lamar. Although HDR has taken a life of its own, I believe it's a passing fad. HDR was created and designed to increase dynamic range that a camera normally would not be able to capture in one exposure, but now it has become a way to create cartoon like images. That's okay, but let's not confuse it with an increase in DR to properly capture a dramatic scene. Images like this will never die. Just like blue jeans, they will never pass or go out of style. In 10, 20, 30 years this type of photography will live on. HDRish images will have it's 15 minutes of fame and I suspect there will be other fads that will come and go too.
