Thanks Ben - I take your comments as a huge compliment as I have been admiring your work for awhile now. For the colors I used a "Midnight Sepia" action that I downloaded from Dave Jaensk. I can't remember the website but if you are interested I could look it up... It adds a softness and enhances the yellow/brown tones. I then manually adjusted the levels and curves to my liking. I dodged her eyes a little to make them pop and used the unsharpen mask some. I think that is about it. Having the action saves a lot of time for me. Oh, I also used Neat Image for the noise. My, my thank goodness for computers - I guess:-) They do help create magic.

Another photo of my four year old daughter...poor girl is getting
sick of me practicing on her. I am pretty happy with this one. What
do you think? Any other suggestions that I could try????

My daughter with some new props I just bought. I am just having a
blast. Thanks for your comments. I always appreciate them and look
forward to hearing what you have to say - both good and bad.

I think it is amazing, different and beautiful. Great work.

I think she'd make it as a model - a very pretty little girl. Nice capture also!!!

Beautiful portrait and what eyes she has!!! Great job.

Nate - did you see the original image attached? Since this was taken in the evening I didn't care for the colors on the original. Do you have any suggestions?

Magnifico!!! Very nice composition and facial expression.

I like this alot... Great soft tones and lighting. She is a beautiful little girl. My preferences would be to leave it as is and not crop it. It make the composition more interesting. Keep them coming.

Very, Very cute. You could easily sell this as a poster print or use it in wedding invitations. Great Job, I love it!!

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear of your accident. It sounds really bad and painful. Being I have never broken a bone, I have no idea what you are going through. I wish you fast healing. I understand if we don't hear from you in awhile. Get better and take care of your arm, my friend.

Very Nice...

Congratulations...The reason I asked is that I am partial to the name Spencer. That is my husband's name. It is a nice strong name. I have three children also - Noah, Makenna and Nicholas. Pretty soon your children will hide every time you get your camera as mine do. When I am working on my lighting my daughter only limits me to five shots before she runs off to play:-) She actually counts and bribing doesn't work anymore... Keep your creative portraits coming.

I like this alot. My only suggestions would be to play a little with the curves to increase the contrast between the black & white. I am also not sure if I might like the portrait better without the film reel pictures on the bottom. They kind of distract from the beautiful subject. Is this your son?

Love it!! Especially the girl with the tongue and the one with the paper to her ear. How funny. Is this posed? Great job. They will be better leaders than we have today:-)

This is my son's toes while he was playing in a trailer of straw...We
were making a scarecrow, so no even though I'm from Iowa I don't
routinely let me kids play in trailers of hay:-) I added my infamous
glow and then a little canvas texture. Whatcha think?
