  1. Ah! DVI, that's what I needed. I now recall that DVI is a sub-set of HDMI. Thank you for your help!
  2. Bridge over Rogue River, City of Rogue River OR
  3. I need to connect the video output of my 7D to a computer monitor with an HDMI connector, the one with flat blade pins and screws in place. What cable do I need? I don't know the proper name for the monitor input connector. Thanks,
  4. How did you clean it? Is there a fresnel pattern on the underside of the screen? If you got oil on the fresnel side while cleaning it, it will look as if there's a water spot on it. I wouldn't count on finding a replacement focusing screen, Ciro-Flex went out of business years ago. There was a guy who specialized in Ciro-Flex repairs, but I've lost contact. I'll rummage through my old stuff to see if I can find him.
  5. Not under US copyright law. Changing only a little of a work is considered creating a derivative, which is not a new copyrightable work.
  6. I don't have a "change" button in the Display Name field
  7. Try that switch, but don't blame if you crash the ambulance! Thanks
  8. Why do I have a 10-digit number appended to my user name? On the old site I was just Charles_Webster, where did 1664879026 come from?
  9. Dusseldorf Performing Arts Center
  10. My Ciro-Flex Model F has a Wollensak 83mm F/3.2 lens. It was my father's camera purchased in ~1953 for ~$80. The model F featured a "parallax correcting viewfinder" that moved a mask up and down on the viewfinder ground glass to approximate the current view. The Rapax shutter has speeds from 1s to 1/400s, with M and F.X flash sync to 1/50s. I have run hundreds of rolls of film through it in the 60 years that it has been mine.
  11. I found them last week, Thank you. I need to thin out some of those very old photos 😉
  12. Before the changeover, I had a gallery with 100+ photos. How do I access them now. I go to Galleries and find no search by owner/creator capability. How does this work now, it's far from obvious.
  13. I agree whole heartedly, but since I don't do any confidential work (or any work at all for that matter), I leave my computer on, on-line, 24-7-365. It is protected by secure, computer-generated passwords for login, router config access, and a VPN. Safe enough for surfing, methinks!
  14. There are lots of tips and tricks for successfully shooting shiny objects in the rather dated book "Light -- Science & Magic"
  15. I'm not a fan of your cropping. I want to see either more of the guitar, or more of the detail. I'm also unsure of why the body color changes so much between shots, is this two different guitars? I shot guitars for luthiers and collectors for about 8 years. Check out my guitar pictures by going to my profile page and following the link there. Flat lighting like this does not show the textures of the materials the guitar is made of. Just as in auto photography, specular highlights are necessary to show shape and surface.
  16. Email from my domain server is fine. What email server/provider are you talking about? There are thousands!!
  17. CS5 is pretty old, it simply doesn't support the raw file formats for the new cameras. You need to update your Photoshop. Then the camera raw updates will be automatic and free.
