    The Bridge

Well I could use an image manipulation program or digital darkroom as I like to call them to change the look of this picture, but then the talent would be in the post processing not the image capture. I think I will try the shot again using a few different filters. Oh yeah, I will alos take a few more steps to my left.

Trying to get this landscape thing down. Tell me what you think

about this shot, and give me some advice on how it might be

imporoved. All of your comments are welcome.

  1. The backdrop seems to be somewhat reflective. Maybe a more diffused light source would have knocked that out. The harsh shadow behind the models right side (falling onto the backdrop) is very distracting and only serves to take away from the subject and flattens the image out just a bit. Another light positioned behind and to the right of the subject could have killed the shadow completely.
  2. I set a custom white balance using a white index card while under

tungsten lights. Then captured this image (quickly because it was

cold out there) The "incorrect" white balance setting gave the image

a cool blue cast...the effect I was looking for, let me know what

you guys and gals think. Keep in mind the camera used for this

capture is a point and shoot (Argus 3810). I appreciate your

    comments and suggestions.

  3. Andrew, I agree I wish that I had been using a better camera (was using an Argus 3810) when I took this shot. As I viewed the composition through the back panel LCD the chain (all of it) was in the frame. But the captured image did not catch it. (another reason to use a TTL viewfinder.

    Splash

Next time try using a longer focal length :-p. Really nice capture, I don't think that I have ever seen the ridges like that on a captured splash really well done.
  4. I was attempting to get the deepest dof I could achieve with an

Argus 3810 (point and shoot with manual controls) There was some

good movement in the water and I wanted to get a blur in the

reflection but there was way too much light for a longer exposure

while keeping dof that I wanted. Any suggestions from you guys and

    gals would really be appreciated.
