Hydrangea Pedals Scanned

I've been working with some fading hydrangea flowers this week. These

were placed on my old flat bed scanner, then juiced up with Nik

Vicenza.

I( wouldn't trust these flowers as far as I could throw them. They look more than slightly malevolent as if they were waiting for an opportunity to swarm over you and petal you to death.

I like the textures a lot, and I particularly like the unexpected color combination. I think you've arranged the colors quite well to give the seemingly random collection a focal center, with the more saturated colors drawing me in to keep returning to the large dark gap just below center. From there my gaze bounces back out to the small saturated violet blue flowers, and then slides back in toward the central dark. Really nice. I'll never look at a hydrangea the same way I did before--thanks!

Amazing in concept and execution! I love the colours, textures, saturation and patterns. I was drawn to it immediately I saw it.
