Don't get so caught up in trying to avoid centering everything.
The "rule of thirds" are just guidelines, if everyone shot everything the same way... I wouldn't bother to keep looking!
Well done... such drama in this photo.

*In response to Paulo's response, which he left on one of my images*
Paulo, my apologies for making assumptions about your english ability. I suppose you could write a caption in Portugese, and I would be the one clutching a dictionary :)
I still however disagree about your idea of captions not being necessary... especially in photojournalism. In pure art photography its different of course.

Clint, thanks for the comments!
I shall also make good future use of the word embiggened :)

I just love the countless provoking images that get posted in the new/journalism area.. without any captions whatsoever to describe what I'm looking at. In this case a group of cops and a guy shrugging.
(That was sarcasm btw)
It looks like a lovely image... how about giving a description? Where is this? What's going on here? who's that man? If there is a "RIOT" what is it about?

Since you felt it necessary to upload a 3504x2300 pixel image, I feel its necessary to mention that the 3 men appear soft due to camera shake, and that the gentleman in the distance has his eyes closed.
Otherwise you seem to have a nice documentary photo here.

Great photo.. the editing you've done provides a wonderful drama.
I do notice some distracting square-like artifacts in the clouds... what's that?

hrmm anyone who put a 3/3 rating care to comment? Love to hear from you

This is a wonderful image. I'm not sure I like the huge amount of sky.. but its a minor issue in this case.
Well done

Amazing layered effect that I just adore with landscapes!
Although, this is almost a little too "cartoon" looking for me. Was this done in photoshop post-processing? I'd love to see what the original looked like.

Does this belong in architecture? I'm just not sure.

All you guys have to comment on is whether or not you think she should be centered?
Comon!
What emotions does this invoke in you? What do you think it means? What's your interpretation.... clearly the composition was done for a reason.
Think a little guys.
If I had to dig up some of my own emotions... I would say it evokes a deep comfort. It reminds me of my fundamental connection with the earth. I think its beautiful.

Comical and saddening.
The boy peering at the man is what makes this photo though. It offers a sign of hope.
