    1.) The scene isn't level.

2.) The foreground distracts from the architecture

3.) Excentuate the lines of the building. The scene may not permit this without the use of an ultra wide angle and significant photoshop adjustment.

4.) This may also look good in b/w.

I'm no pro....this is just how I see the scene....

This one has that "Wow" effect...at least on me.

I like some of the darks that you're getting with these exposures.

I'm glad to see film (lrg format especially) still survives.

Keep up the good work. Post more!

  1. JMHO:

    I like the composition.

I agree with Dave, in that you could play with the colors and temps to make it a bit warmer.

I would also suggest cropping in from the top, just a bit. (This may prompt some "head room" comments...) and a longer exposure, allowing for a better effect with the running water.

    I know this house...I think...Frank Lloyd Wright?

  2. This is a terrific composition. Knowing that it is a composition allows me to see that the angle of the sun is different on each of the subjects and the colors are a bit different too. The light on the mountains is a bit coolor (bluer?) than that on the plane is warmer (yellower?).

Don't get me wrong...I like the photo, very much.

  3. I like the photo. I like the composition. I like the color.

My only hangup (and it's MY hangup) is that it appears, to me, to be a bit grainy. Judging by your equipment (thanks for including it's info), you were probably about as wide open as any one could expect and the iso as slow as you could go, given the light conditions.

    Nice work.

    Interesting, indeed...

I like the idea, here. I like the feel for where oyu were going with this. My first thought is that this begs to be done in BW...

Two compositional issues that are mildly nagging:

    1. Your horizon is a bit off, and

    2. The lamp post behind the tree limb is a bit distracting/disconcerting...

a few steps to the left would have helped a smidgeon...

These are just my humble, inexperienced observations...feel free to discard them if they don't make sense.
