Oh, you did it now. Its broken, send it to me. I will pay the shipping.
;-)

Really, you are okay. Enjoy the lens!

It is the 2B pencil that I have figured out is the best. It is softer than HB and shows up well
on the mat.
-
Here is one of my prints with a black mat
-
Just to mention:
These photographers use black mats for their work.

Ahh...I think you are thinking I am matting black and white prints. Nope
-
Thanks for the responses, I used one of my daughter's pencils on one of my mats and was
disappointed. I guess it wasn't soft enough. By the way, what is wrong with a black mat. I
know a number of photographers that use them. Enlighten me.
-
I am wondering what pencils others use for marking black and also white mats. I would expect they are
soft but is there a specific type and softness that is used?

I like the idea about the black tape around the center filter but the duct tape does not mark
the grad. I use the duct tape that is black. It does not mark the grad and the adhesive does
not come off the tape at all. Come to think of it, I have never had a problem with the center
filter marking the grad but I am very careful. The problem with masking tape though is
during colder weather it does not have a tendacy to stick well. At least the masking tape I
have been using. Strip the tape in half also.
-
Forget the adapter system. Get some duct tape and tape the filter at the right level to the
outsideof your center filter. Make sure the duct tape only covers the edges of the filter so it
won't show up in the picture. This is what I do and it works excellent and is very cost
effective.

I am a Canadian, we use duct tape for everything.

If you were to get it for $400, why are you considering a flat bed scanner? You shouldn't have been asking the question in the first place.

Pick up a copy of John Shaw's Nature photography field guide

Hi there:
I am wondering what lenses are available for 6x9 photography. I am using a 6x9 back on my 4x5 camera
and I need lenses that are 60mm and wider. They don't need to cover 4x5 so is there any more reasonably
priced lenses that are wide and cover 6x9 only?
Thanks,
Darcy

You will also need 2 studio lights set apart at 45 degrees from the print with lights that are polarized.
-
By the way, when I say new battery, I mean new. Not a different battery that has been hanging
around.
-
Change the battery I would say. Sometimes the battery has enough juice for the lights but
won't set off the shutter. Put a new battery in.

The RZ handles rain like pretty well any other camera that is not waterproof or water
resistant. I have had my RZ in rain a number of times. I will let some rain fall on it but if it
gets too much I will cover the camera like the other poster. I will dry it off when I get a
chance but my cameras keep on ticking flawlessly despite having a little rain on them.

I would like to know if it is possible to convert a full plate camera to an 8x10 camera by putting a 8x10
film back onto the full plate camera? Of course the 8x10 camera back would have to be trimmed. Has
anyone done this?

It is a good idea for smallish prints but if you want real quality large prints, go with 6x17.

I recently bought an old Japanese field camera. The wooden lensboard measures 84mm wide x 96mm
high. (3.3inchesx3.78inches) In the description of the camera, it said that this is a linhof style. Is that
correct and if it is a linhof
style, is there a certain linhof board to look for? If it isn't a linhof style lensboard then what is it?
thanks,
Darcy

Wouldn't be my choice but to each his own
-
Consider anodizing it or powder coating it.

I am looking for the graflok sliders and want to scavenge them off another piece of equipment. I need
ideas on what pieces of equipment I can get them off. They don't need to be a specific size.
Thanks,
Darcy
Pre-exposure poll transparency film
in Large Format

I would like to know how many use pre exposure for transparency film? Have you found it useful for the
high contrast subjects? What devices do you use?

Darcy
