  1. Even when everyone isn't fully captured, the family is fully depicted.  I think of Jack often whenever I am seriously snapping shots, hoping that I'll strike gold like he always seems to do.

There, but not there.  What is left out is more meaningful than what remains.  The lines keep everything contained.  Almost jailed.

    Birds above water

Great timing.  A B&W version would also be wonderful.
  4. Tensely beautiful.  The clawed hands.  The long nape of the neck.  Nice tones all the way around.
  5. Moody.  Love the stark creation.  A clean capture of a surprisingly clean storage room (cleaner than my garage will ever be!).

    Bikes... 157

I like the crop, which gives a sense of abstraction.

    Milkweed

Hectic is right. Too many moving parts... The photo isn't a game-changer by any means, but it caught my eye. I haven't posted in a while, partly because I haven't had time to comment on others' photos, and I feel guilty.

    Transitional Form

A theophany! You should call the news. Build a shrine. Print up t-shirts. Sell coffee mugs. Fleece the flock..... Oh, wait.....you're not in America..... Never mind. Nice abstraction.

    The Lost Comb

There was a photo series in the HuffPost that documented the debris washed ashore by refugees. A doll, a passport, a purse.....lost stories. This immediately brought that piece to mind. Who? Why?

A Landscape in a Hazy day

The strip of light and the mass of the shadows create a type of abstract. Very nicely handled.

    Together... 232

Kind of quiet, except for the amped-up color.  The orange in the shoes, bag and skin tone works.

    Sushi

    That's one focused boy!
  15. I think the repeating shapes work well. The squares and rectangles of the boxes, trays, and newspaper. The circular shape of the hat and fan. His rumpled shirt with the rumpled towels on the wall. And nice color to boot.

    l.c. sunrise (1 of 1)

Very beautiful.  A difficult capture.  Did you use a neutral density filter?  My shots of sunrise at the Cape never turn out so balanced.
  17. This makes sense. Casual, but captivating. The stair-step divide both connects in direction and individualizes each as separately framed.

    Maples

I like the swirl of the Helios. It's a fun lens to toy around with, and I get some goofy shots with it. I've amassed a little arsenal of vintage lenses, but I keep returning to this one because it's so unpredictable).

    into it

A little hallucinogenic. I'd be interested in hearing how this is captured.
  20. Grandly captured, awaiting debate. A presidential front-runner if I ever saw one. I like the detailed, but not overly HDR quality.

    Showers on I-85

Well, we got our storm this morning (or at least we in Cary did). I like the crispness of the raindrops.

    Univers

The difference between external and internal. It's a nicely organized photo.

    Together... 231

The man and boy look like the same person at different points on a timeline.
  24. The little tuft of grass on the left gives a little sparkle, like a firework anchored to the ground. I like how the sky seems luminous, especially the little dollops sunlight on the top of the clouds. The tilt energizes the visual hike.
  25. I like the unusual angle and acid colors. Odd, but interesting.
