The colors are amazing. At first I didn't grasp what it was, but with the strength of the colors, I didn't care. One of those images that grabbed me from the getgo :-).

...not as much as some of your other shots. I'm not sure why (I'm bookmarking it and will look at it more over the next day or two and see if I can understand why). From a CREATIVE standpoint, I LOVE it, but some of your others are more to my taste :-). I really like the lines and the contrast between the lines (the window and the stair rail). A very good shot, though :-).

Alec, I really like the casual feeling of this shot and the fun in the shot...I really wish that the leftmost pair of hands were visible (a nit, I know)(hmmm...noticing that I put a lot of my own shots in the reject pile for similar reasons, maybe I have a thing for hands :-D). Great shot!

Mark, that was exactly my point :-). I actually DO have some comments on this shot, but tend to keep them to myself on people who rate my shots 2/2 with no comments (especially when ALL of the other ratings are substantially higher). I DON'T mind a 2/2 rating if there is a reason and it is explained. However, I know what a 2/2 shot is...those end up as kitty litter, unposted, unretouched and the like. A shot has to be pretty abysmal to warrant less than a 3. I normally would have commented on this shot, but am trying to make a point about 1/1, 2/2 ratings with no comments.

It would have been nice if you would have given some comments when you rated this Klara a 2/2 rating. As you can see, I do not believe in retaliatory ratings, in fact I think my originalty rating may be a point high, but the light is good.

Yep, it IS a wide angle isn't it. Well, in this shot it works spectacularly for my taste--fantastic shot. The only thing I might have done differently (if it waz me mistreating a perfectly good camera) is go for a softer light. HOWEVER, I really like the light and the harshness (I'm a wuss when it comes to full sun, I tend to not shoot...here is a shot showing why I SHOULD shoot).
  1. There's something about this shot that I really like, can't quite put it in words...maybe its the way the light seems to be emanating from inside the figurines...hmmm...that's it :-).

    Waiting

I dunno what all the controversy is about, when I rate a shot, it is more on the initial emotional impact. This one, with the title, definitely has the essence of waiting in it. The lines of the steps and the line in the lower left all balance nicely. Not having the detail on the man? Who cares, he is all of us at one time or another. The only differences among us might be WHAT we were waiting for.
  2. It IS great because of balance and composition...and for the male sexist reason...

I really like the balance between the piercing and the bracelet...you just gave me several hundred ideas that I may have to try :-).

    Great shot!

John, I know what you mean about the before/after/inbetween shots sometimes being the most interesting. I usually don't shoot color nudes (always preferred black & white) but a couple of weeks ago shot a couple of rolls. Mostly garbage, a few shots that MIGHT warrant a 4 on a good day and only if the rater had a winning lottery ticket and was in an exceptional mood. However, there are two shots of the model changing outfits that I love, may post them to give the jackals food for their feeding frenzy :D.

    Love this shot :-).
