PT, a very good take on a tricky theme. Well seen and since it is documentary in nature the B/W suits well. I can't really see any other ways to improve the composition.

Thanks everyone for your comments. The sun behind the lamp was intentional and I will try out the less people scenario one of these days when the sun sets around high tide. The vertical format idea sounds great, will try it as well.
-
hey PT you beat me to it as well. I was thinking along these lines too. My take on it was going to be fluttering greenbacks to add some more energy to it. Needless to say a different interpretation.
-
PT, this is an offbeat interpretation. I like it. I can only think of perfume -- but somehow perfume in an open vessel does not make sense. Thetight framing add to the intrigue -- wpuld PT care to elaborate.

Knicki, Thanks for your comment. I agree that a little more space at the bottom would be nicer, will try more later.

Commenst and critiques are appreciated. Thanks.

Does the composition work? Any comments/critiques are welcome.

PT this a very good idea, and I agree with Calin that a tweaked ( to adjust for the overexposure on a finger) BW conveys the message very nicely.
-
PT, I like the original the most. It is a good idea but the BW does not do justice to the concept.
-
PT, I like the idea and humor when one takes this along with the egg-cup image. Aesthetically the shadow in the bottom right is a bit of a problem and so is the blue curved border in the top. It would be nice if a bit of the yolk is oozing out to make it more liquidy.

PT, this is very well done photograph in terms of the composition. The tree on the left and the two wayward branches almost framing the majestic beasts. After Mark's comment about the flash things are a lot more clear to me. As far as themefit goes it is very reasonable.
Thanks!

PT, this is clearly an innovative idea. I don't quite understand the symbolism at the center but the meaning is carried through nevertheless. For me haven is a mental state so this makes sense.

PT, this is "picture-postcard" perfect haven. The shot has been carefully composed. I am in two minds whether having somebody sitting on the bench would be a good idea or not.
-
PT this is a good idea. I think the board should be included to complete the story. Also, if the photograph was shot from a lower point of view it would make things seem as you are looking at things from "their" perspective.

Very simple yet very elegant. I think the tone adds to the photo. I am not quite sure if the leftmost "clip" needs to be there -- it might be worth trying one shot without it. Thanks for sharing.

PT, this really well done. Thanks also for sharing the idea/object behind it.

PT, this is a good candid shot and as far the theme goes it is good as well. I think it is fair to say that this is a "candid" shot and using flash is OK. If the choice is between loosing the "moment" and capturing the moment imperfectly I recommend choosing the latter. I like how the bird's foot is caught midair. I tried out a cropped BW version and that is attached.

Very nice abstract with great colors. I wonder how it was done. The only cliched suggestiong would be to add a little asymmetry bu cropping out a bit on the left.
