  1. Not entirely sure what i like about this one... but i do! I do like the colour very much and it suits the composition... again i don't know why? Very Good, very different...

This is brilliant... you have captured the moment perfectly. Good action, good expression, good use of focus, good composition and good colours... i really like it. i guess this is 'softball'? I would have loved to see one fieldsperson right at the back out of focus with the glove ready!
  2. thanks for your comments. i could not show more of the wake because there is no wake... this is cable 'wakeboarding' which is set up on a cable pull circuit (no boat) and the riders rely on 'loading the line' to spring (pop) out of the water... very impressive when you see it done properly! The also have the use of 'kickers' ramps and 'sliders' rails to perform tricks off.

i really like this.. i think it may look better if the black square format is cropped tighter to the head in a portrait (rectangle) shape.

Really good contrast... like many of your pictures? is this done later in photoshop? i really like the effect.

  3. Thanks for you comments neil...i agree that the barb-wire may be a little un-sightly... i am new to photoshop and will clone it out at some stage. The Orang Utan is not in an enclosure and is free to roam as deep in to the jungle as it wishes. He is however an orphan and as a result has had a lot of human contact, therefore it will take a long time for him to become comfortable with life too far outside the reach of the Re-habilitation Centre. His name is 'Olly'.

I may try the crop you suggest... i do like the green in the background though? The shot was taken with an automatic Espio and therefore i had no choice as far as Fstops are concerned.

  4. thanks ken, yeah i thought that? i was scanning the negative last night and played about in photoshop to remove the cast... however, i ended up going back to the original scan. I'm still not sure if its the film or the dusty australian desert atmosphere...? I'm just pleased i got lucky with the image and the gentleman's willingness to be photographed. I was in my van at the time and he had approached me to ask for directions...
