This male Grosbeak is perched in front of my raspberry patch. The
Grosbeaks seems to enjoy the raspberries it is a good thing there are
plenty of them to go around for everybody. This was taken in early
morning sunshine which seems to be a rarity this summer in the Pacific
Northwest. I had to reduce the saturation of the oranges by 20% and
the total saturation by 15%. This is a brilliantly orange bird.
I like to beautiful diagonal composition in this image. You've done a masterful job in the postprocessing. There is a painterly feel that really works well with the flowers and the darker background. The softness is wonderful. This is photographic art at its best.
This is a male House Finch. I find it interesting that they will hang
around on the electrical wires but very few of them actually come down
to the perches. There are more females that actually show up around
the perches and feeders. The males seem content to just watch.
