This is an absolutely lovely composition. It does not have the detail that mine did, but it has a certain magic lighting about it. Thanks for the helpful comments. Your composition is exactly what I was referring to. This is the glow~!

Simply wanted to start a dialog about lighting and get some input from those who have better images with lighting systems. Thanks for the low ratings on the image. Now, that you have been so conscious as to rate the image low, perhaps you could share some of your superior photographic lighting experience with me. Luke

I am playing with a new lighting setup and need help with when enough
is enough. This was done with the A2 and 200ws strobe and umbrella.
The camera mounted flash was the trigger for the slaved strobe. Would
more even lighting make this softer? What gives flower images that
magnificent glow I see so often? Thanks

interesting background. the focus shift on the railing alludes to her possibly growing up. creative imagery.

wonderful EP; wish the track was not there behind her head. Great country pose!

Difficult to meter this I bet; still like the old rust bucket and the blue on the right side. The left could use a bit of a crop as I think it contributes to the business of the overall image.

Great shadows

Absolutely wonderful framing and color!

What would make this more interesting without removing it from
abstract category?

Well, Steve, I think I pushed the A2 towards its limit. The lens stops down to f/2.8 and this is f/3.2. The flash compensation is something I could work on; the lens is an all-in-one 28-200mm equivalent.

OK, here is the first portrait (intentional) since I received such
good advice a while back. This still does not seem to be quite sharp
enough for me. Are the details of the trees too distracting?

I want to start taking more people shots. I need help finding out
what makes others want to look at portraits of others. People we do
not know? Help me make my people images more interesting!

good lighting on your subject and even though the background is OOF enough, the slant is somewhat disconcerting for me.
