speedotrons are much cheaper.

Thank you all for your help. I replaced the battery and still the problem exist. Yes, I think there is something wrong with the metering. Now, can anyone suggest a good reliable repair shop in Los Angeles?

Thanks

Randy,

Thanks for pointing that out. I meant to say, OVER EXPOSING! I just cleaned the contacts and the problem is still there.

I took it out today and noticed that it's underexposing by several stops. Everything is set correctly...iso320, AEL, aperture, etc. At f4 with ael metering, it's showing me 1/8 of a sec on a bright sunny day in so.cal at noon. Does anyone know what might be the cause? Thanks in advance.

I suggest you narrow down your idea. Instead of shooting every work place/business under the sun, start by shooting one industry. I would also suggest you start with friends first. I'm sure you have plenty of friends that work. It's a lot easier if you start with someone you know.

i suggest you look on a eb@y for a used on. you could probably find a camera with lens and accessories in excellent condition for about 1000.00 or less. with the money saved, you could buy a load of film!

It's my favorite manual camera! Pair that baby up with a good Nikon AIS lens and you'll be in heaven. I think it's a perfect camera for your first manual camera. The metering on the camera is great. I don't think it would count as a classic camera but it's the closest you'll get with modern technology.

you can't lose with either. 1000 for a used 28-70 is slightly high. you could find some at 800 in excellent used condition if you shop around vs. 1200-1300 for a used 24-70. i personally like the 28-70 because i could use it on my manual fm3a camera. with the 24-70, you can't set the aperture on manual cameras.

why not a pentax 6x7? it's inexpensive with great optics and it shoots like a 35mm.

Get yourself a Nikon 8000. They are great scanners and they aren't that expensive anymore used. I purchased a D300 several months
back and just recently purchased a Pentax 6x7II cause I got a killer deal on it. Well, it's not a hassy but it's just as good and now my
D300 sits in the cabinet. I purchased the D300 cause I got tired of scanning but since I went back to film and scanning, there's no
comparison. In my opinion, I would rather sit at my computer scanning film for hours than look through the images from my D300.
Purchasing the Pentax made me realize how much I love the look and feel of film again. I also have a hassy that I used to shoot a lot with
but I no longer use it cause I realized that I like the horizontal view better vs. a square. My advice, find a used Nikon 8000 instead of
purchasing the V700. I've had my 8000 since new and it's been great.

I use film cause my images are already backed up cause I have the negative. With digital, you have the risk of system crashing and constantly having to back up your hard drive/s. When computers move beyond CD/DVDS, you would have to transfer. With film, you don't have to worry about any of that.

Make sure your back is attached and locked properly. I had the same dark slide issue when I didn't have my lock lever all the way to the
right...the lock position.

YOU WOULD LOVE THE PENTAX 67II!
I've shot with mostly my Mamiya RZ67 and my Hasselblad before I got my Pentax 67II. The camera is a monster and it's the heaviest
between the three. But MAN, DO I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I have both the 105mm and the 45mm and both lenses are SHARP. The
105 has REALLY beautiful bokeh. It's to die for. The 45mm is tack sharp. Many say it's sharper than the Hasselblad 45mm. I
personally haven't done any testing and don't plan on doing one but from the rolls of film I got back from a trip to Humboldt, CA, I have
to agree that this lens performs beautifully. One big plus is you could pick up a Pentax 67II kit for cheap...low end $1100 to $1500 on
the high end in mint condition. Also, the meter prism works perfectly. One draw back is loading film. It's the hardest of the three. So
far I've ran about 30 rolls through my camera and I'm still having a hard time loading film quickly. If you're doing landscape, you
definitely would want the bigger neg. I highly recommend the Pentax. Great camera with awesome lenses to choose from at a killer
price used.

Hi,
Does anyone know the going rate for images being used in video documentary/biography shows?
-
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the responses. Let me clearify. I want to replace the whole door cause it
got scratched during my travel. Purely for cosmetic reasons. If anyone has one, please let
me know. Thanks again.

Hi,
I scratched up the film cover to my FM3A. There are plenty of covers for the
older FE and FM cameras on Ebay but none for the FM3A so I was wondering if the
older film covers would fit on the FM3A?
Thanks

i use the same lens on my D70. it's a fun lens to have for parties, weddings, and
snapshots. my advice to you is not to use the lens with the pop up flash. it will cast a
shadow of the lens onto your images. if you don't have one already, get an off camera
flash to mount on the hot shoe to get rid of the shadow.

My 8000 is in need of service...bad scanner head. To replace it, it would cost 450 from Nikon. Well,
I'm debating if I should fix and replace the head on my 8000 or get the Epson V700. Is there anyone
out there with experience using both the Nikon 8000 and Epson V700 that could help me decide? I will
be scanning mostly medium format. Thanks in advance.

FYI. I have the porty. It's a good pack but the recycle time is REALLY slow when it's at 1/2
to full power.

What makes you think there's a lot of photoshop? This shot could easily be done without
any post production work.
-
Yes, it will work. However, you would need an adaptor which is yet to be released.

Did anyone else go to see Red Bull Illume (www.redbullillume.com) at Huntington Beach, CA? If not, you
should go if have the chance. Last day is the 17th.
If you love sports photography, then you should definitely go check it out. If you want to see huge
slides with both digital and film, then you don't want to miss this. I personally loved it. The quality of
these images were amazing. So much energy!! Some of these sports photographer guys amaze me
with their composition and talent. Beautiful stuff.
Anyway, it starts at 8:30PM until 11:30 or so. These are huge slides so they could only show them at
night.
