1.
Very little in terms of gear right away. I'd spend money and time on travel. I'd buy new gear as I go and as projects required.

 2.
[[Personally I think it is BS that he confuses beginners and if he does it is the beginner fault anyway]]

I weep for the education system of your youth.

 3.
[[Was hoping to have one lens with adequate (for me) zoom range]]
Panasonic FZ1000?

 4.
Just download the "EOS Digital Solution Disk" from Canon's website. And then you can download the updater for DPP.

 6.
The link to the manual, from Canon's own website, is available in the first response to this post.

 7.
[[. But 55 not long enough.]

Which is why Canon is releasing the EF-M 55-200mm this month.

 8.
[[Where can I download a free user manual for the eos 7d camera]]

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/5/0300004275/02/eos7d-im4-en.pdf
page 24

 9.
[[EOS-M - not the right lenses available;]]

EF-M 11-22, 18-55 are available now.
The EF-M 55-200 should be available shortly.

Otherwise, the SL1 maybe?

 10.
Page 67 of the user manual is the relevant section here. It's not really asking you for paper size. It's asking you to set a default shooting resolution.
Bill, you should be using the highest resolution available to you, in this case you should be selecting the 16M icon.

 11.
A surgical mask will not solve the problem of fingerprints, parv.

For the fashion conscious, a full HAZMAT suit would be both functional and stylish.

 13.
Buy a microfiber cloth. Cut it in half. Keep one half in your pocket and the other half in your camera bag to replace the one from your pocket when you lose it trying to fish out your car keys or change or cell phone.

Apply as needed.

 14.
edit/update: duplicate of JDM's response.

 16.
300mm plus 1.4TC may be more versatile than a single 400mm.

 17.
[[The large version shows no problem at all]]
That's not what I am seeing. Photo.net's full view of the image is as poor as the smaller view.

 18.
[[Rob, isn't that exactly the problem?]]

How is that the problem? The user has uploaded the same photo to 2 different sites. Regardless of whether or not your browser is color manged, the results should be the same between the two websites, even if they are consistently wrong. The problem is that photo.net appears, in this case, to be changing the file in a way that is detrimental to image quality.

 20.
[[To second Wouter: your photo.net and flickr photos look just the same here on my iPhone]]

They do not look the same in Firefox.

 21. Adobe is not the only game in town. There are other paid and free RAW editors.
 22.
I think Canon is making a statement here on what they believe the future of their market will be. They're prepared to put the Rebel series in blister packs on the end caps of the grocery store bread aisle next to the 1.5L bottles of Jarritos. No DPP for you!

 23.
AT&T only. I'd rather eat broken glass.

 24.
[[GoDaddy releasing domains such as .photography]]

GoDaddy had nothing to do with the release of new gTLD's. The organization, ICANN, is responsible. GoDaddy will simply sell you the temporary access to use one.
