1. I use 3 SB-800s with my D810. Never had a problem. Two of my 800s came from KEH--condition was even better than described.
 2. And a related problem, why are ALL the pictures (thumbnails) in portfolio view only in portrait view. That orientation shows only part of the picture and often misses the content entirely.
 3. My photos are back and snug in their gallery. Thanks.
 4. My photos were here a couple of days ago--in fact whenever I signed in I was sent directly to them. Now they are no where to be seen. ?????
 5. I agree with netr and Brian, above; this represents alternative facts, and is not particularly useful. Yes, here are key differences between the 3 formats, and NO, this is too simplistic to do those differences justice-to say nothing about the strengths and weaknesses of each. Close, perhaps, and certainly no cigar!
 6.
Glad you got the darn thing off. Rodeo Joe's candle wax idea is the best and least messy solution to preventing sticking. First brush off the threads on the hood and the lens and perhaps vacuum or blast them with air.

 7.
Ed, I think you are using too much force. I've managed to get my share of filters stuck on lenses too, and what helped is a VERY gentle twist. Pinching or otherwise using a lot of force can distort the hood/filter mount. Another trick is to carefully applying some cold to the hood near the mount so it shrinks away from the threads.
Yikes!
Good luck.

 8.
Two things struck me about the anniversary video: first there were few, if any, shots of families, people doing daily activities and a lot of professional type stuff. And second, a first as far as most in the US are concerned they pronounced the brand as Knee-Con, not Nye-Con, as most here say it. Progress.

 10. Matt and family, many thanks! Be of good cheer y'all!
 11.
Sandy,
North Idaho is a lot like your neck of the woods, sans the wind. Cold is my friend, though age-related "arthritis" means I have to warm up more than I used to. Dry cold is great, wet cold is messy. If our climate hasn't changed, perhaps the new "administration" will decree an end to change. Regardless, I shoot more mid-day shots than during warmer weather, and way fewer early morning/late evening shots.

 15.
I'd love to . . . but living and working in northern Idaho puts me to far away, and all of next week I will be at a conference in Omaha. But thanks for all you have done!

 16.
I too have been using the Phottix wireless remote on a D810. Reliable and versatile. One thing, you may have to set your shutter release to the shutter button only (i.e., turn off back button) if you want auto focus to work.

 17.

(Just 563 - if you would have told a photographer that 20 years ago, that you can shoot over 500 shots without changing media, imagine the reaction....)

WW, we're showing our age, er, um, I mean maturity. I remember, as many of you will too, trying to get 37 shots on a roll! Though, I can also remember the thrill of going from 120 film, with a measly 12 shots, to 35 mm with its 24 and 36 shots. Age does indeed have an evolutionary advantage!

 18.
What flash are you using?

 19.
All I have is strong and inconsistent southern light. While all I attempt are head shots and some product shots, I find that Marc's advice is spot on-large reflectors to even things out, with an occasional gold one to warm things up in the middle of a summer day. The light is more direct in winter, but more variable (I'm in north Idaho) and less dependable and more short lived.
