1.
Hector,
This might help: http://www.tripodhead.com/products/Instructions-SK-100.pdf

 2.
Auto AF fine tuning with AFS makes complete sense to me. You (the camera) needs to lock in on one object at one distance to work. Think of AFC as constantly changing location/distance ; If AFS is calibrated, then AFC will be too.

 3.
The places I shoot--no cell coverage!
Instead I will happily give up built-in flash and video, for a savings in cost!

 4.

Focusing mode can affect shooting rate. Setting shutter to "release" rather than "focus" priority may help. But I don't think that's the problem, some setting is off. I'm away from my camera right now.

 5.
Here is another take on the subject: http://neilvn.com/tangents/full-frame-vs-crop-sensor-cameras-comparison-depth-of-field/

 6.
Reports over the past week or so indicate that the new D500 (dx) has AF to die for and excellent high ISO capabilities, as well as great burst shooting.

 7.
I once worked with a shooter who used aluminum tent pegs (e.g., https://www.rei.com/product/693153/rei-aluminum-hook-tent-stake ) to hold things down outside. Of course, that only works on bare ground, lawns, etc., and not patios, driveways, sidewalks, etc.

 8.
Not only overexposed, for the whites/lights, but also the use of a wide aperture makes the out-of-focus areas seem soft.
That said, the advice to refund the sale is the right one.

 9.
There's this: http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/09/20/diy-photography-hacks-stay-dry-with-a-hands-free-umbrella-holder-for-your-tripod/
and this:http://www.amazon.com/Haoge-Photographic-Umbrella-Bracket-Support/dp/B00WOF3IBC
and:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g48ilaGbUhs

probably not what you are looking for, and any wind and it defeats a tripod.

 10.

These lenses are loaded with distortion beyond the means of auto-correction

I disagree--the 24-120 does great and can be very easily corrected in DxO Pro and others. Yes, there is distortion, but in landscapes it will not be readily seen. Nikon's own in-camera lens correction is also very good. Make suer you have the latest firmware.

 11.
Rob, I wasn't implying buying a new filter, rather, the information at that site may be useful and interesting to you, given your subject matter and style.

 12.
Rob, this may help answer you questions, and ease your experimentation: http://breakthrough.photography/2015-nd-buying-guide/

 13.
Seems KEH is under new management.

"KEH was bought out by a NY investment group and the company is no longer what it used to
be. The new CEO is out of touch and out of date. They are replacing the old staff with their own
people, including the CEO and working their way down. They don't know the camera industry
and don't appreciate the staff that have been there for years..."
This employee review was from 4 Feb 2016:

"In the last three years, there will have been 4 CEOs, 3CFOs, 2 CIOs, 6+ CMOs. They
can't stop turning over the senior management ranks. Private equity ownership have no
idea what they are doing. The culture is abysmal. The staff is completely demoralized."

Source: https://www.glassdoor.com.au/Reviews/Employee-Review-KEH-Camera-RVW9459123.htm

 14.
Move the lever so it is locked (can't see thru the viewfinder). Try screwing or unscrewing the eyepiece. Hopefully it will tighten up. Move the lever. Have fun.

 15.
Oh my--senior moment Rodeo! D500 is flashless. As the kids say, my bad!

 16.
You could use the pop-up flash in master mode to control your Nikon SB flashes using IR control (line of sight).

 17.
PhotographyLife is a dealer/importer: https://photographylife.com/product/sticky-paper

And I believe Amazon does too.

 18.
And now for something completely different . .
This time with a bit more love . .
Again with experience
Seconds.

 19.
Here's a devious trick: send it in for a shutter replacement.
http://en.nikon.ca/service-and-supp...ice-Advisory-for-Users-of-the-Nikon-D750.html

 21.
Thanks Henry. And good luck in the days ahead. Like we are constantly reminded about internet deals that are too good to be true, so it is with bad news that is too bizarre to be true.
Cheers.

 22.
The title is rather misleading-it is not a fault of the D 750.

 23.
I'll stick with Edward for now. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Too much he said, she said, they said, for now.
