  1. if she was standing on her knees instead of sitting on them, she'd be the same level as the gravestones, which would give it a more continuous look, instead of abrubtly being given this idea (which is fantastic by the way) if it was more subdued it would have more of an effect
  2. composition is great. you make it look very impressive and unattainable...just needs a slightly eerie low brass fanfare to accompany it and you've got it made. the clouds make it look like there has been some dramatic swirling of something in the background for emphasis.
  3. i've been watching your spoonville postings, and finally gave in and checked out the spoonville anthology. fabulous!! it really shows your sense of humour as well as of asthetics! keep on spoonin'!

(just a side note, this one, with the lone spork is one of my favourites, along with spoon over spoon lake)

    gorgeous colours!!!

i would suggest to crop the left side a bit, to move the colour more toward the centre, but the slope down on that side balances the one on the right nicely. too bad the ridge wasn't lit the entire way across.

  4. looks just like a soft velvet blanket. the colour and the shadows...beautiful.

i have to agree though, that it might help to see just a hint of horizon in the picture. for some reason the group of purple flowers in the bottom left corner really bothers me. it feels like it should just be grass to ease the eye, and make it seem like the foreground is flowing into the background. with the texture of the picture, i really think you have to have that idea of soft movement instead of the more abrupt transition that is shown.

  5. when i first saw this, i saw just another photo. but when i actually looked at it, i kind of liked it. not really a great photo, but it works with the cloud background. it'd be nice if there was only the lone ant and if more of the plant was in focus (although it does give it a bit more depth this way)

Please rate and comment! is this cropping effective? (original is

in my folder) is there anything i could do to improve it? this was

shot with macro lens--what do you think of the depth of focus it

created? check out my folders too please. thanks!

if it wasn't for the focussed background, i would have sworn this was motion blur! great picture, i love the contrast of the layers against the rock formation and the clouds.
  6. beautiful colours!! they just grabbed my attention and i had to take a closer look. i've always had a thing for orcas and this is a great shot of one. the curve of the back must be very near perfectly circular, which has a very pleasing look to the eye. i like the simple background as well.

nice job. but i have to agree that you should try shooting outside of the aquarium. (beluga photo) not quite as convenient, but very rewarding

this is from my first roll. i've just gotten interested in

photography, and any feedback you can give me would be great. please

check out my other photos too. there's another picture of this, with

the description that this root structure is "troubling". i think

it's amazing, but what do you think?

  7. i'm assuming this was coloured in a photoshop setting. if so, you could blend the lines of colour more in the top left corner to match the focus, and make the edge more even.

very interesting photo though...grabs you attention.

  8. when i first saw the image it ways from a distance. it looked exactly like a withering rose. a second look close up and bigger gave me quite a shock. it's gorgeous, and with a shock value like that, it's no wonder it's getting a lot of good feedback. (disregarding all this it's not a photo crap)
