donald_miller5
Rick., isn't that a fun camera? Just wonder with all that plastic how many shots you will get over the life of the camera. 8 or 8M?
rick_drawbridge
Yes, Donald, I think "quirky" would describe it fairly well... Despite the sort of "toy camera" construction, the little triplet T-43 lens performs better than one would expect, but it seems that the cameras have a limited life expectancy, judging by the comments on the various forums. The version I used was the "Cosmic 35", a Smena-8 re-badged for distribution in the UK.
donald_miller5
I may be redundant and do not know if you read my other posts. I was just in Latvia where where some one gave me this camera as a present. He described it as a camera produced for students and novices to learn on, not as cheap. 21 million of them were were produced which is more than any other single model of any camera. Many of them are canabolised for the Lomo lens for lomo photography. While being Soviet it was made in Latvia.

Mike Gammill
I like the black & white version better, seeing both versions helped me choose. I think it's easier for the eye to concentrate on the subject with black & white. Might also look good in sepia as well. Thanks for sharing both versions.
