Nice to see some spring colour. This picture is from last Friday when the Harlem Globetrotters came to town. D700, 10.5mm DX lens, 1/500th at ISO 6400 (apologies for the major copyright splurge but it had already been doctored for my website).

00aCHM-453441584.JPG.f4487a1a8342316bf14805ab738011d7.JPG

Great Vizla, Matt! My favorite dog. Beautiful Egrets, Jeff -- amazing to have them so close together. Continuing my fascination with Wood Ducks, and the remarkable phenomenon of "Structural Color", and the associated phenomena of nanostructures, "superhydrophobicity" (what a wonderful mouthful!), and the "Lotus Effect". This one is "The Prismatic Blush of Structural Color". Admittedly over-sharpened to emphasize the textural detail in the duck's cheek. Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-300 VR lens, ISO 200. Cheers!
Sorry! I thought I'd gotten over problems in uploading photos that were within the limits. Will try again at 690 size.

Great shots everyone .
I happened upon a radio control airplane club doing a tribute to veterans. They graciously let me take some pictures. I was amazed at the detail some of these guys have on the planes and the "pilots" .
Here is one of my favorites --- Snoopy with his red scarf blowing in the wind .
