Ticker Tape parade for the World Series Champions -- the San Francisco Giants

Access to the parade route was difficult if you had a job and didn't have the day off. The baseball Giants winning it all in 2010 is one of the most spectacular pro sports success stories in decades.

Some really nice stuff here! But, my favorites, . . .
Dan F. Don't you wish you had found that Bald Eagle perched on one of those fence posts!
Mark K. Great serene type mood!
Kerri A's Pit Bull!
Thom P. Great Zoo Tiger!
Robin S. & Jeff P.'s More Autumn

I too was out trying to capture the few Autumn colors we have left when this young lady crossed my path.

Believe DRI typically stands for Dynamic Range Increase -- not to be confused with HDR -- but in Russell Brown's faux-HDR tutorial this TLA is an abbreviation of Dynamic Raw Imaging = single RAW file processed once in ACR. From what I've gathered, images that are too contrasty yet retain details in both highlights and shadows render themselves best to this treatment, thus providing a method of saving them without the hassle of multi-RAW processing, notwithstanding that this "unusual and bizarre / wild and wacky" look (as the author describes it ;) is not everyone's cup of tea. If interested, you can find a fill-size version of my submission here.

00XcJH-297897684.thumb.jpg.e047c077352d64f64c0676b46c6d84c3.jpg

I'm always blown away by how many great shots show up here! I especially appreciate all the fall color shots, as here in So. California, we don't see too much of that. A few others that particularly caught my attention -
Luop's acorns - beautiful! The oaks in my neighborhood don't produce anything so pretty.
Vladimir - the dog that thinks he's a leopard, very funny!
David S - back lit leaf, liked it a lot.
Dan P. - Princess Leah, made me laugh.
Dean S. - close up of the guitarist, great expression.
Ken P - great colors, like the silouhette. Congrats to the Giants!
David Wu - flapping wings - for whatever reason, also made me chuckle.
Thanks everyone!

These two, my nephew and niece, are so hyper that keeping them standing still in one place, together, pointed in the same direction, w/out making monkey faces, is practically impossible. I gave up after a while and just took what they would allow.

I was out trying to get the last of the fall colours (Saigeon Trail Richmond Hill Ontario) when I found these dried out wild flowers. I was pleasantly surprised that I as able to use a low depth of field to give the background a water colour effect.

Taken with Canon EOS 50D with Contax Planar 50mm F1.7 at F4
