Rampant Sexual Imagery on Photo.net

Am I the only one who is disturbed by the rampant sexual category added to the No Words forum ( http://www.photo.net/no-words-forum/00Y1JT )?

Here people are posting images of living things blatantly displaying themselves in order to get their jollies from passers by, like bees and such. What's next, a category on the streets of Amsterdam?

Shocking!

I'll have to investigate the "No Words" forum to see if you claims are substantiated JDM. I will have a full report for you with my findings ! If you don't hear from me in a couple of days/weeks it's because I am very busy with the investigation.

Some folks go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans and are offended. Even the local police have a rough time keeping the drunks in line. Might one propose censorship for the entire Mardi Gras time frame?

I think there are things that make me quite nervous about viewing nudity. I think that we need to define the nudity that we post. What do I mean by that? Well you are posting for a view of the human anatomy, primarily women, what is your focus? Why do I say that well because the lines of pornography and artistic nudity are very thin, gray, and soft. One border that separates the two is whether it is arousing or titillating to the viewer. Well if you focus is from the bust down the message is obvious. If you are concerned with the eyes, face, expression, and head area it makes your work more artistic. There is one thing about nudity that is always a blessing and that is that you don't have to look at it. I think this site has a non-nude area so you don't even have to glance at any nudes if you don't want to.

JDM, I think this is a cunning ploy by Walter to prevent vegetable nudity being shown in the august pages of the NW forum. He knows that if invited to post naked flowers we will all post pictures of water towers and other less inflammatory subjects.

Joseph, I must have lived a very sheltered life :-). So what is the Queen up to when she throws these 'garden parties'?

All too true, but water tower shots need not be less "inflammatory:" and suggestive. Here's my neighborhood water tower.

Mark, I disagree, totally. Here are four of my favorite nudes. None show the face, at all. Please explain to me how showing the face in these images would make it "more artistic".

Could be anything. In the UK, a "garden" is most typically what Americans call a "back yard". Both "garden" and "yard" stem from the same Germanic "gard". A Scots coworker invited me to a "garden party" once, and it was a perfectly normal "backyard barbecue". (Although he did have a lot of throwing games, horseshoes, bacci ball, etc).
