Dieter Schaefer
If that's supposed to be a rangefinder, then there should be a rangefinder window somewhere - but there isn't any space left above the grip area. And with the viewfinder almost centered on the body, there isn't much space for a good rangefinder base to begin with. Form needs to follow function.
bebu_lamar
I hate that a lot of people when talking about rangefinder they don't mean rangefinder. The meant live view or EVF type or AF instead. A rangefinder with such a wide zoom range would be difficult to make. The King of rangefinder Leica couldn't come up with a rangefinder that work on zoom so they had to have a tri-focal length lens.

lex_jenkins
That concept design is... interesting. If by interesting I mean terrifying. Which I do.

I like the idea of something like an Olympus XZ-1 fast zoom, paired with a DX sensor. Generally speaking, I like the designer's moxie. The Coolpix line needs this kind of shakeup.

But, puh-leez... study the Ricoh GRD or GXR for an idea about how an interface should be designed. That concept camera looks like it was designed based on an inexplicable infatuation with the Rollei 35.

<a href=" front controls make li'l Reagan's head spin.
