silverdae
I've asked many questions about this revision on our website, and I appreciate all the answers I've gotten. The site is now live and ready for review. A few notes: *I don't like using simpleviewer as my only gallery, but the quickness of changing it is great. I have something up, and for now, I'm happy with that, but I'm looking for non-flash alternatives. *I would like to hear comments on just about everything- feel free to look at my code. Broken links, formatting, ease of use, anything that comes to mind. Thanks to everyone- Jen www.geneboaz.net

RobertChura
Looks nice! It loads real fast and gives good info on the first page. I like the layout and simple navigation. I am so happy to see a site without flash.

mike_godwin1
Galleries are are different animal. As log as the main page loads fast, people will see it and not just leave while waiting for it to load. That's where I leave. Yours loads nice and fast and looks very good. hjoseph7
Very nice. It's clean, well organized uncomplicated and it's not saturated with too many pictures. Also I like the fact that the address and phone number are within sight on every page, so you don't have to go dig for it at the bottom of the page, or click on any "Contact Us" link. Another good thing is that the directions are displayed in Black Bold on a plain white background, so people dont have to squint when reading it. Especially older people. Did you do this yourself ? silverdae
Harry- yes, I did this myself with the the simpleviewer gallery from lightroom (I used coffee cup html editor to code it). Other than the galleries, it is pretty simple html and a cascading style sheet. Thank you for your comments.

I dont and I really dont want to cause any problems with the IT guys by downloading external software that as they say, "might slow down the bandwith". Brad_
That's a great use of Flash - images preload in the background while the user isn't doing anything. Makes for a very responisve site. Something like 97% of computers have Flash installed. Higher if you sample people in the creative arena. www.citysnaps.net
scott_richards4
There are a few CSS issues with your site. Specifically when looking at it on Flock, Firefox or Safari on a MAC all your content runs off the bottom of the screen. You have the hide scrollbar option written in somewhere. Also on your bio, home page you should specify the min-width and max-width as all your content gets screwy when the browser is not at a specific width. jim_flinchbaugh
Yep. Firefox user here too, What Scott said above. (all I noticed is the scroll bar is gone in Firefox) other than that, IT LOOKS GREAT! Aad Fast too I like that, the Kids section is really cool JIm
Spearhead
Brad's data is a bit on the low side. Flash has over 98% penetration, and 99% in the US. The few people that can't get it at work can get it at home, that shouldn't be an issue. Youtube is based on flash technology, so pretty much everyone should have it by now.<P> Flash is a very useful technology. I've never heard anyone complain about it except on photo.net. The biggest issue I see with it is that search engines don't capture most of what you put out there with a flash site. It has a lot more functionality than plain html. I use it with <a href="http://www.spirer.com/140bpm/">this topical gallery.</a> Music and Portraits Blog: Life in Portugal

silverdae
Thanks for the comments. Scrollbar issue has been fixed- it was an overflow tag, and the formatting on the "about" page has been addressed. I realize that there is a debate on whether to use flash, and I realize that not everyone can access the galleries. I would like to find a good, non-javascript, non-flash alternative to offer to my viewers, but I can't find one that has the ease of use as simply exporting it from lightroom and dropping in a snippit on my page. The html galleries in LR use javascript, and they are a pain to place in an html page. Right now I'll live with it and hopefully stumble across something in the near future. Thank you again for all of your comments. It was exactly what I was looking for.
