<p>Sounds like the external drive is formatted to Windows. You need to format with the Mac. There should be an option to format without using NTFS.</p>

<p>This determines what settings are applied when you open the file to Photoshop from Bridge (Open Image).<br> Normally I change the depth to 16 bit because I want as much as possible to edit with and the space to Adobe 1998 then 300 pixels for printing.
