  1. I can assured you the device is invented and made totally in the UK. Some of the process of making it involved highly skilled craftman. It's no Chinese knockoff stuff. Same can't be said for the flash though.
  2. I don't know who makes it in the UK but here ULine sells them. They are made by various manufacturers. You're lucky the 101 doesn't cause problem for your flash as it shorted the 2 contacts of your flash hot foot.
  3. Haha! Old digital cameras remind of childhood??? I was not a child when I first saw a digital camera.
  4. You can remove the mirror but then it's not the digital version of an FM.

  6. Orsetto! If you take the pictures of the camera on the side you will see the F2AS and its MD-2/MB-1 combo is much thinner than the little D40. Digital camera is too thick.
  7. Yes there is problem but I really don't know how to solve it. There is always some source of confiction and gray area. It seems any time one tries to categorize something there is always the problem.
  8. Doesn't he have a Canon T7s already? He can keep using that. He will have to decide for himself what he wants to get. To know what he wants to get read up on new camera features and using his camera a lot to know what it's short coming are.
  9. I guess of all the manual focus Pentax the only one I don't like is the K1000.
  10. At one time they had the best sensor. Their early DSLR based on Nikon and Canon bodies were priced in excess of $20,000.
  11. I think the Cds cell has been replaced and its spectral response doesn't match. In contrary to what Joe said I think is less correct as your F2AS agrees with other more modern cameras. Now I do agree that the Cds have better spectral response than silicon cell but sillicon cell used in meter are corrected with filter while most meter with Cds doesn't have a filter.
  12. Back in the days I had an F2AS (F2 with DP-12) and my local store had a DE-1 finder for $42. I got it and went out and shoot Kodachrome 64 with it and no meter. It was fun. Later my F2AS got stolen and I gave the DE-1 to my friend. Well that DE-1 is now worth quite a bit of money.
  13. Do you hold the camera in the same way all the time? I heard that when the galvanometer in the DP-11 (or DP-1) got old the orientation makes a different in the reading.
  14. I don't think the DP-12 is most likely to fail. It has the more reliable Silicon photocell and has all solid state electronic vs the DP-11 Cds cell and galvanometer movement. I think the galvanometer is most likely to fail.
  15. Replace the film and see. One of the patch is conductive when it's supposed not. So it's not dirty but perhaps some of the paint is lost.
  16. If I want to shoot Instax film I just buy one of those Instax camera. At about $1 per shot doesn't take much for the film to be the main cost. The $100 or less for the camera isn't all that much.
  17. I think it the camera would fire the flash. No TTL or any communication between flash and camera that is there is no such thing as turning the flash on will set the camera sync speed or something like that. I can't get the manual from Metz website any more so I don't know what kind of features the flash has. It would be quite useable if the flash has A mode which uses the flash own sensor for auto exposure. Also it would be useful if the flash has variable manual power.
  18. The Z9 is for now the only camera without the mechanical shutter (well not counting some P&S or smartphone) does anyone found any problem with the rolling shutter? Canon just came out with the global shutter for full frame sensor but I think it would be long before they put it in a EOS-R camera.
  19. It would be a good thing but then I don't need camera as I have more than I ever need. I need film and processing.
  20. I believe they said do not send the battery with the camera and they don't send a battery with the camera on the return I think.
  21. Totally agree to get spare. I have a hard time replacing the battery in my Metz 60CT4. I tried NiMH, Li-Ion but finally I chose LiFePO4 which has lower self discharge rate and lower voltage than Li-On which recylces fast but may damage the flash in the long run.
  22. Don't have a Z9 so I don't know but my guess is that the video frames don't count although it's the same as a still frame which counts.
  23. I just wonder if it has a counter (a counter which is not mentioned in the user's manual, something Nikon doesn't want you to know like the one in other cameras).
  24. Does the Z9 have an actuation counter like other cameras that have mechanical shutter?
  25. I can't buy genuine Nikon battery for it any more. I bought a Watson battery but it doesn't last long. Self discharge rate is also very high. I can charge it fully and not using it for a couple weeks the battery is dead. Jose which AA adapter do you use? I didn't think there is one for the D1X.
