<p>Thanks Joseph. I did exchange my older batteries for the newer ones when that was first announced. </p>

<p>Hi Folks. Let me start by saying this. First, I am not certain I fixed my problem, though I am about 95% certain I have. Often times when I would use the Sigma 30F/1.4 ART lens and the camera set focus, it would not release the shutter. Changing settings from release / focus etc to simply fire off, would not fix the problem. After much searching google and this site, I found a very few articles with my exact same problem. The consensus was that it had to do with the XQD card. The Sony cards in particular. So I went out and purchased new Lexar pro cards and that seems to have solved my problem. My D500 never once gave me an error message. I even sent the Camera to Nikon and they said it was perfect. Of the many many lenses I have the problem seemed to occur most often with the Sigma. I looked for firmware upgrades, but there are none. </p> <p>Has this happened to any one else here? I read that many folks with the D800E and end even Some D700 owners had the same problem. In those cases it was the compact flash cards. I also own a D800E and have had no such problem. </p> <p> </p>

<p>Honestly though. Those lenses are OK at best in my experience. (having owned two). They are cheap enough to just buy a replacement if you really like that model. I would look for a more modern lens. <br> I ''tried'' repairing one ''once'' and never again. 8-)</p>

<p>I have 2 of them myself and they are absolutely great ! <br> 30F/1.4 DX and the 35F/1.4 FX. Brilliant colors, sharpness, everything. I also have one contemporary lens that is also great.</p>
