Phil, you forgot to mention there are a total of 2^(wxh-1) polygons in the pic :)

Aside from that, if indeed Martin is having issues that precipitated this, he need to step away from being a moderator until he gets things in his personal life straightened out and can moderate objectively again
I agree.
-
Yes. And if that's the case, I'll totally understand, but we have no reason to believe that is the case.
of course there is a reason, he’s behaving completely irrational
-
Sure, just make the operation of the site even LESS transparent.
.
Transparency isn’t the only issue. Have you considered the fact the Martin may be in need of assistance at the moment.?
-
Why is that? It's pretty obvious what the moderator did.
I agree. So why do you feel the need to keep chirping in?
-
No, this is turning into several of us who contribute to this forum wanting to know why our work researching a topic was thrown away because-it appeared-a moderator was shown to be wrong.
The thread needs to be shut down so Admin et al can debate the issue behind the scenes.

Andrew, I get the impression you are more interested in photography “as a science” than photography “as art”. Good luck.

I’ve owned TG-2,3,4 & 5. All owned from new and the only problem I have encountered is the zoom rocker switch going after a week or so on TG-5. Oly fixed it pronto.
They are tough, I’ve dropped most of mine and they bear up.

Smiffy, to lose 1A is careless. To lose as many as you is downright depraved.
-
Maybe seek out environments and situations that are a bit outside of the relatively generic?

Sorry, Brad. There’s nothing outside of anything there. Some heavy handed processing maybe.

It may be that I just don't like people enough to find every photo in this genre interesting, though as I've reported, some I do.
this is completely asinine.
andrew, i am beginning to think this thread is all about you being in love with the sight of your own words.
-
I've got to say that I don't really consider WPoTY to be "street”
who said it is. i mentioned WP because i thought it would help you appreciate SP.
-
LMAO.
Smiffy, you lose an A every other day. Good job you had plenty to start with.
-
This is turning into a witch hunt.

Andrew, I think you looking at this too analytically and ignoring your feelings. The reason I equate SP with WP is they are both emotive and engage the viewer and if you have faith in your ability to spot a great WP photo you are almost certainly going to be able to do the same with SP. But you ain’t going to be able to appreciate all “great” photos of all genres
Asking what makes a specific photo (that you don’t rate) great sounds more like you are interested in being able to critique photos rather than appreciate(feel) them.

i don’t know that landscape photography is connected to street photography but, imho, and as mentioned earlier, wildlife photography is. here’s a great site with stacks of examples of “wildlife street”

an alternative site for readers who would prefer not to patronize the daily mail

No Norman, I was simply responding to your comment regarding my being in a league of my own with regards to subject matter, hence the reference to Instagram which in no way relates to any number of followers, that is your invention!
But enough of this exchange, I have just been contacted by a person you insulted gratuitously in another thread, we agreed on the futility.
I will humour someone like you once, rarely twice, but it ceases there.
John, you might want to try and distinguish between Norman & Norma. We wouldn’t want you posting pics of naked men and disappointing your fan boys.

Instead of threatening to delete threads, maybe deal with the person causing issues. Just a thought.
That would be you would it?

Barry, definitely no need to apologise, I was just curious about the result (I should have tagged my question OT). The UK is constantly debating electoral reform especially when one minority party does better than expected. I’m sure it’s the same in the USA
-
what offensive post?
“western_isles”- if that is his real name- saunters in here and starts moaning about things that everyone is aware of. why didn’t “western_isles” do us all a favour and read the previous posts on the misfiring of the site instead of posting an inflammatory post
i rest my case.
(i won’t mention the fact that “western_isles” wasn’t capable of distinguishing who, allegedly, “offended” him)

The electoral college was another institution to attempt the same.
Barry, is anyone arguing for a reform of the electoral college given how it “failed” the majority of voters in the last election. Failed in the sense the person with the most votes lost.
(This is not an attempt to delegitimise Trump’s “victory” just that the result, mathematically speaking, seems odd)

Judging by your photos, John, it looks your pappy skipped a few lessons.
-
I doubt the odious Rupert Murdoch does either.

Definitely, and I sometimes think this post-capture analysis is a little ambitious and wonder if HCB was aware of the all those readings when he took the photo. Not that really matters.
