  1. When a problem is good. Fuji jpegs so often are so good I can't equal a raw to jpeg as good and it makes me wonder if I'm on the right track in Lightroom. There are certain algorithms in Fuji cameras that produce amazing jpegs! Not good enough jpegs but I mean excellent images. Although sometimes not, but these jpegs are worth paying attention to as I will.
  2. There is some info that the D820 will be the successor to the D810 and that the D850 is another solution.
  3. I have actually for some time now been looking to feed a set of 7 Nikkor AIS lenses a DSLR but these stories don't help, although I am aware of the D750s terrific features and IQ and price, it is surely a top contender. My decision, or lack of has been affected by Mirrorless platforms and all of what they are about along with pricing, but it makes more sense, in my view, to give Nikon another look. Aperture lever compatibility, the awareness that Nikon has facilitated the ability to set up a menu to particular lenses focal length for a manual lens seems all in the family. I don't know, I'll give it some more thought. I've been eagerly awaiting Nikon to release a new Model that would awake me to press the button, but that hasn't happened yet. Just around the corner?
  4. While we're taking Fuji, I recently tried Iridiant Developer and for those curious, the RAF files from Iridiant Developer indeed do present a better RAF. The early on issue I'm having is how to get a feel for sharpening, I have amazing hits and some misses. Iridiant Developer at this juncture doesn't have all the tool that Lightroom does and is a ways behind, but to create a RAF and load into Lightroom as a Tiff to work with is quite enticing and more than that as I mentioned huge success in some cases. I'm working to make it about all cases.
  5. I'm surprised at the level of acceptance that there's a taking for granted that the newly purchased item will be sent back. That's a low bar. This should not be happening. I agree the D750 platform is attractive, but C'mon, shutters?
  6. I'm using a Mac 10.11 and my Fuji RAFS open fine.
  7. I'm getting better speed. The other day it was unusable.
  8. Tonight joy has been rediscovered here. The response time navigating forums is lightning fast! May I extend a huge THANK YOU! Although the Explore category to view pictures is brutally slow.
  9. Also check that the EVF is set to Auto for now. I tried MF with focus peaking set to Red High and are not having this problem. Menus are menus I disagree with Ken Rockwell on this. If getting used to one Brands method of menu navigation, then switching to another, human nature is to find discomfort to learn a new way. I don't have a problem understanding the menu in the XT-2, I just know that I need to know it and that takes time. Once you get it, it becomes a non issue. I hope this issue you are having doesn't turn out to be a technical aberration with the camera, that would be a drag, but as you mention other Brands, I've heard the nightmares others have had with various brands and to be honest this issue here today is the first time I've heard of an issue with Fuji, but that doesn't mean anything I'm just one person.
  10. I had a similar situation until I understood the setup menu and made some changes. Go to menus and select AF MF then go to RELEASE/FOCUS PRIORITY and select AF-S PRIORITY SELECTION AF-S (FOCUS) AF-C PRIORITY SELECTION AF-C (FOCUS) Also check Depth of Field scale and make sure it is on Pixel basis.
  11. This site is getting to be annoying as heck. Slow loading, on and on. Where's the joy?
  12. I just tried to delete my message above because I was pissed off and thought it the right thing to do, but when trying to delete the message I couldn't do that either so i thought fine keep the rude message!
  13. This site has become practically unusable! I'm using a Mac 10.11.6 and I can't navigate this F****** place. I bring up my own portfolio and get someone else!!!!~!~ WTF!!@!

    THESE OLD DOORS

    Fuji XT-2, XF18-552.8-4, Acros, Tripod.
  15. Timeless Doors Carmel Fuji XT-2, XF18-552.8-4, Acros,Tripod.
  16. Just checked mine. Symmetrical all the way until fully stopped down when there's a slight variance in a perfect aperture. I'm not concerned about this as I just used this lens and have great shots form it. I think R-Joe got it.
  17. I also found my login stayed for a couple of days, but then got logged out, but now its back and staying, we'll see.
  18. What does this side of a 400 foot Cliff look like? I've got a thing about Hight's, so this was as far as I was going to go. This is at Point Reyes National Seashore at Chimney Rock Trail. The other side, 400 feet! Fuji XT-2.
  19. Serial #530XXXX and it has the honeycomb shutter. I hastened to add from my previous post that even though the shutter box had an issue, that was fixed with a CLA, the camera works fine in aperture priority and manual. In shutter priority and Program, it doesn't fire the shutter speed shown in the window. It says 60th but sounds like 1/2. Oh well maybe another CLA down the pike to get it right and I also wanted to include that I really like this camera. I've always liked the way the winding mechanism seem so smooth and precise. Got a lot of pictures from the FA. The FA was released in 1985, that was when I bought mine
  20. I have a Pentax 67II with several SMC lenses. Most of the lenses yield impeccable image perception. With the right light, Velvia 50, or Ektar, and the right lens for the subject, the rich look of the images are amazing. I also like Film as the RAW file backup concept. I have film stored properly that has survived 30 years! That in itself justifies keeping the edge with a film camera. Just got back from a trip where after scratching the digital itch, I pulled the Pentax 67 out of the case to give it a spin and it was a tremendous pleasure re living the method, the mode. I'll keep the Pentax 67II going as long as I can, It could very well out last me, or keep me in shape a little longer. In this picture the lighting conditions are a departure from what I usually shoot in. I'm a believer in diffuse light with Velvia, but I broke with tradition and went with the flow and it was the last frame in the camera and the last frame of the day.
  21. Seems that film is more impervious to heat than electrical devises. I'm not saying that as a FVD comment, because I've had no experience with my DCAM suffering because of heat and I don't want to find out, but in the summer of 2012 I was in a situation when I couldn't get to my film, 21 rolls of Velvia left in the car and it was 112 outside, must have been 120 in the car maybe more, but the film survived! This amazes me.
  22. CYPRESS TREE REACHING OUT When living things change direction for survival. Fuji XT-2, XF18-552.8, Velvia, Tripod.
