I love this photo..It has an errie haunted feeling to it... I love the composition, colors and shapes still seen thru the fog..
This evening I have been browsing portfolios here and on Flikr and this is one of my favorite fog photos seen tonight!
I think I am going to go out and get some shots tomorrow morning, if it is still foggy but not raining:)

This image was lost in a batch that is almost 2 months old..I was going thru my albums and deleting what I didn't need...I'm glad I found this before I deleted it :/

Taken this morning..It was a pretty day with chill in the air..I was moving about on the rocks at the water's edge...At one point I thought my day was going to take a quick nose dive downhill...I slipped on one of the rocks and my camera also hit the rock..
When I shoot photos, I keep my camera hanging from a strap securely around my neck..Lucky enough for me I still had my tripod connector on the bottom of my camera, and camera hanging from the strap around my neck..I think the tripod connector helped to protect my camera because the camera hit the rock at the area of the connector..My 85 mm lens was intact and the camera body was also intact...a very small nick was noted on the connector itself..Camera still works well at shooting photos..This photo was taken after my camera and I fell :)

It was a great treat to come across this garden in a park fairly close to my house that I went to.This rose garden was a recent addition to the park and I was unaware of it being there.. I found this lovely garden while walking the park..The day was cool , windy and grey..Instead of having to go into work Thanksgiving morning I was on call..To stay awake I decided to go to closeby parks and take photos :)

I am off the next couple of days, so I am going to get up early ( if I am not too much of a lazybones) and try shooting again from this same spot tomorrow..I like this spot. If I stand in this area and take pics, there isn't as much clutter seen on the horizon... I should try getting shots at ISO 100, 200 ? Hopefully there will be a visible sunrise included...
Take care,
Lisa
I always appreciate your advice :)

I went to my usual hangout to watch the sunrise.. I was assuming/ hoping it would be clear this morning, and I was looking forward to doing some early morning sunrise photography..A cold front had moved into our area last night.. This image was shot in the time window that the sunrise was scheduled to be visible in our area..I knew that the sun had risen but I couldn't see it or photograph it due to the cloud cover still present :/

Thank you Mike..
I hope you and Betsy had an awesome Thanksgiving holiday ! :)
Take care,

Hi Mike,
I was new to my camera when I took this image..I will try to get to zoo tomorrow or Monday and redo this image if I can... I want to replicate the conditions in which I took this photo and try to follow your suggestions to improve this image :)..It will be fun to try..... :):)

Mike,
I think I do have a subconscious obsession with the movie "Birds", lol :)

Gary,
Thank you for your feedback!
I am glad that your response led me to your portfolio..I enjoyed looking at it ! I also got some inspiration for new places around here to get some shots ! :)
I wished that I had had my 50 mm 1.4 lens on my camera instead of this one. I hadn't planned on doing these portrait shots of Chris, but we were talking about cameras and the mood suddenly hit me. Chris was in the mood to be my model..
It is fun for me to learn by trial and error, reading, and feedback from kind people ( like you guys on photo.net) that are willing to teach :)
Take care,
Lisa

Chris, Charlie and I walked around the museum district..I had a lot of fun..Chris, who is my oldest son, was a willing model for me so that I could practice and teach myself how to take portrait shots :) Out of my whole string of photos taken today, this was the one that came out.. The rest of the images were unfocused..I didn't use a tripod in getting these shots.. I have a whole LOT to learn, lol :)
-
Any feedback welcome and appreciated..I would love to learn as much as I
can about doing more portrait and street photos :)
This image was shot without using a tripod, no flash.. Had I had a choice, I
would have taken my photos an hour later than I did.. I would have had
softer lighting..
