I love this unique shot! I have been spending the last few minutes revisiting all of my old Photo.net friend's portfolios and I came across this pic :)

    Passing Storm

Nature gives us these passing storms.. Times are turbulent while the storm is being weathered, but one can look forward to light and peace, once the storm passes :)

  1.  Good Morning Mike,

Thanks for the feedback.. I like your fixed version of my photo.. This image is much better without so much of the noise.. I can see that this pic has more of the detail that attracted me to shoot these chess men in the first place :).

During the period of time  when that pic was shot, I was new to SLRs, and I was going everywhere , shooting photos.. In those days, I was a bit clueless that I needed to be mindful of the ISO setting before I shot a pic..I was always forgetting to put my camera on the appropriate setting for the time of daylight, and it seemed like I was stuck shooting in the auto focus  mode, lol. Although I have learned more about my camera and photography in general, I would love to take a photography 101 class somewhere. I can't seem to find any class offerings at our community college because my work schedule (full time- 12 hr days) is so erratic.

I am thinking of taking an online class ..I am seriously looking into a particular course that I read about last night. This lady teaches six lessons ( chapters), with a new lesson given each week. Time alloted to complete assignments is flexible. Cost of entire course is $ 179. The teacher seems to offer ongoing mentor support long after the course is over with..

    Hmm...

Of course I still need to do my research on these online classes before I sign up for any..I was wondering if you (or anybody else that reads this) has had previous experiences with online photography courses ?

    Thanks,

    Lisa

    Beautiful photo.

I love the clarity and the colors.

I haven't been anywhere outside of the U.S. yet, but seeing this photo makes me want to visit this city ASAP ! I love seeing  all of the activity in the narrow canal between the beautiful old buildings !

  2. I love this shot..I have a weakness and addiction for seeing beautiful cityscape and architectural photos!

Awesome vivid colors !! This shot makes me think of colors that reflect off of buildings at that time of day before the sun sets :)

  3. Thanks, Mike

Hanging out somewhere pretty and peaceful while enjoying a cup coffee or a glass of wine is definitely one of my favorite activities...I do love going to the beach !!!..My favorite times to  go to these places is at sunrise or sunset..Like you I usually have camera in hand..

This shot, however, I took while I was holding my breath :/..I was standing within a few feet of a port-a- potty.. After I got this shot I ran for fresh air, lol :-)

Again, beautiful composition and colors! This photo and the previous photo (that I critiqued) would look awesome, both with matching mats and frames, and displayed side by side :)

Awesome photo! I love the colors and the composition! I can see a cow that is taking up most of the space in the sky.It is flying in the direction of the leaves that are seen in the upper right hand corner of the photo. I think  this cow is planning to swoop down and grab a leafy snack:)

  4. Thank you Mike, for the feedback..This is an image of a vivid winter sunset.. It does seem like I photographed flames due to the angle I shot from, through the trees.. I don't have photo shop but I wish I did! The re edit for this photo was a decrease in the contrast :)

I love the vivid pink of the flowers that is contrasting with the green that is  seen in most of the photo :-) The fog in the background adds a mysterious element to this pic..

I like this photo.. This young woman seems to have an enjoyment of wearing modern clothes in the latest fashion while at the same time maintaining the traditions of her faith..I see the contrast of ancient versus modern in that the background behind her includes tapestries that may be very old, while at the same time she, (like a many of our young people) keeps her cell phone visible and close at hand :)

This photo was taken when I was on a vacation almost 2 yrs ago...Today I

was experimenting with minor edits( contrast, color saturation and

    cropping) on this photo

    Thanks for looking :)
