I really like the movement in this photo, Axel. I am also enjoying the use of B&W here. The tonality is very pleasing to the eye as well, and the details isolated in the pier really contrast with the smooth feeling of the rest of the scene. Very nice.

Thanks Axel. I agree with Axel about needing to see the large version to appreciate the details in this shot. There is a lot of fine detail, and subtle lighting shifts because of the angle of the sun. Being new to the site it took me a minute to figure out how to add that suggestion to the title. Pretty easy! : )

A great shot! Love the subdued mood created by the fog, and the colour contrast between the leaves on the forest floor and the rest of the elements. I also like the framing/ composition of this shot as there is just enough space between the trees to form corridors that lead your eye into the shot, especially on the right vertical third. You have also maintained the diaganol of the hill via the base of the tree in the foreground, which keeps that dynamic feel to the shot. Congratulations on a job well done.

I saw this piece of bleached out diftwood on a beach in Kona. I loved
the texture and how it contrasted against the volcanic rock on that
beach. Please let me know what you think.

A shot near the Malaspina Galleries on Gabriola Island, just off
Nanaimo, BC.

This was taken in the summer at the lower lake. There are three lakes
chained together, which I plan on getting to next time I am in the
Pemberton area. Thanks for any comments, good or bad.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I agree with your comments. Unfortunately I did not have a lot of time to get this hsot, and it was taken early when I first purchased my DSLR etc. I really appreciate what you had to say, and your comments will help me on my journey. Cheers.

Hi Murat. I totally agree with what Stephen said about the light/ exposure in this shot. The lower light really produces drama. I also like the composition of this shot with the boats forming the leading lines into the shot. Beautiful details to top it off make this an excellent image. Cheers.

This shot was of my mother while on a one and a half hour walk on
Gabriola Island. When we came to this place, she sat down on this log
and began to explain that this has been her resting spot on the trail
for the past 15 years or so. At the time this photo was taken she was
90 years old! She is still alive, and continues to smoke like a
chimney! I hope you enjoy this shot.

I took a number of photos on my last day in Kauai of surfers on a
beach at the north end of Kapaa. I had been trying to find a good day
the whole week, and then heard from a surfer (who was our waiter in
Poipu) that the surf was going to be up in various area on Kauai. A
lucky break for me! Thanks for checking this shot out.

A shot taken of some Indo-Canadian ladies sitting out in the front of
the school where I teach. I taught one of their grandchildren. I
liked the expressions of enjoyment on their faces. Thanks for
stopping by.

I love the lines, textures, and tones in this photo, Federico. I also agree that your post work is very nice. here! Thanks for sharing.

I liked the lighting in shot, and the subdued colours. For me this
shot really represents the natural beauty of the West Coast of
Vancouver Island near Tofino. Thanks for providing feedback.

A 5 second exposure. I loved the way the water was flowing off of the
rocks in the foreground, and how the forest in the background was in
partial shadow. Thank you for providing feedback.

I liked the contrast between the Asian architecture and the high rises
in the background. Thanks for checking this out.

A pier on a cloudy day. Perfect for a long exposure. I liked the
structure, and how it contrasted texturally with the water and sky.
Thanks for stopping by.

This was one of the first times I shot in foggy weather. What I liked
is how the dense fog helped the busy background elements disappear
that would have been distracting on a clear day. Of course, the
formations themselves are very isolated with the fog, and these
wave-like formations extended out about 14 feet.

What grabbed me about this shot was the perspective created by the
road, shoreline, and the lighting and shadows that accentuated the
road. Thanks for looking.

Another taro field shot while on Kauai. I liked the endlessness of
the field, and how it contrasted with the clouded in moountains in the
background
