  1. <p><a href=" <p>having the defect with my d750. Will have to return it. <br> Used a 50 1.4d 70-200vr1 and an 85 1.8d all shows the leak </p> <p> </p>
  2. <p>Thanks chipster. Great to get your opinion ;)</p>
  3. <p>elliot you assume to much and u make urself look bad. Dont conclude that people lack skills and know how. <br> If you tell me that its good at up to 6400 and more, than our standards are different. Thank you for your link to dxomark, i dont buy according to a number and I dont believe them for a millisecond anyway. I prefer to look at the raw file and decide that way only. A number means nothing to me. I also believe they get payed by nikon. Lets leave dxomark out of it. </p> <p>Dont know or care about the 800/10 at all. No need to bring it up as it doesnt interest me The bit. </p> <p>And lets get back to my questions I asked. If you can help with that then great. Otherwise thank u anyway.</p> <p>1- what frame number was your camera when u bought it new? Mine had 120 frames shot with it before i bought it and it was sold as new. </p> <p>2-if u use a d3/d3s/d4/d4s how does it compare speed wise in lag to your d750. The d600 was horrible.</p> <p>3-d3s/d4 shooter how does your d750 compare to the d3s/d4 in terms of color and noise over iso 4000-12800?</p> <p>nice pic Eric. </p>
  4. <p>If you go by numbers than u are naive. Reviewers have interest. I dont believe but a few who are very trustworthy. Do u choose gear by what dxomark scores?<br /> and having owned the d600, it was slow. To u maybe it was fast but everytime i switched from the d3s/d4 to the d600 i sighed knowing it was a slow camera. Maybe we have different tolerences of whats slow, i dont know. <br /> But those numbers dont mean a thing to me. It was also said in reviews the pictures that at iso 6400 its better than the d700/d3 but it simply isnt the case. D600 falls aprt from iso 4000 up. Shooting so many weddings with the d600 its not what reviewers hyped it up to be. Af is slow shutter lag is long and iq is good to only iso 4000. Oh and the colors are horrible as well. Even brenizer noted it also<br /> Reviewers today have an interest to tell u what u want to hear so youll buy from their links and they can make<br /> money. So i.Only ask those who are pwners and maybe 1 or two reviewers and not completely trusting even then</p>
  5. <p>When i bought my d600 it had 120 frames on it. I found out after my first event. I uploaded the last pic to a website, minus the pictures it shot total and it had 120 frames. Im almost certain the store sold me a returned camera because the packaging inside wasnt closed properly. Not an issue as i passed the camera to a friend i work with and we traded cameras. He knows this too.</p> <p>My question is, when u bought the d750, did u check how many frames it had?</p> <p>my other question is for those whove used a pro dslr camera like a d3 and above. I ask them specifically because id like to know the shutter lag with the d750 vs a pro body. The d600 is molasses slow and want to know if you could feel the difference from the time you depress the shutter release button down till it starts the cycle. The d3/4 are lightning quick but i just hated using the d600 and could very easily feel the huge delay with it. Those who dont have pro bodies dont be offended. The pro cameras a re a certain standard im familiar with and want feedback compared to those</p> <p>my last question again is to the d3s/d4 only owners/shooter as i shot with a d3s/d4 and want to know how well the image is from iso 4000-12800. At weddings i shoot a lot from 4k-12800 and from my experience with the d600, its limit was iso 4000. It just broke up after that. U may say otherwise but to me it wasnt useable over 4k. Just want to know how useable it really is to 8000( which would be my acceptable limit) yes ive seen reviews but like the d600 where it was said to be great to 6400, at 4000 it was its absolute limit. The same with the d3s/d4. Their limits are around 8000 but can be used at 12800 if ur in an emergency.</p> <p>As long as u have good lenses and overexpose a bit extra Ill always get a good image.</p> <p>again non d3+ owners dont be offended. If you asked me something about any other camera i wouldnt know how to help as ive never owned them. Ive only used these cameras. Cheers</p>
  6. <p>I wouldnt go to nikon at all. I have a feeling they wont repair it for reasons I believe are for u to buy a new updated model. Try aps. Just be aware that if its the piezo motor (swm) ur looking at a steep price and it may not be worth it as u can get the vr1 for around 1100 in mint used. <br> I dont believe any repair place at all. I believe the vast majority are shady peoe and they can tell replace this and that and u wouldnt know if its true or not. I dont know Daniel from nrc before i repaired mine but he posts pictures and explains whats going on with the lens. <br> If i didnt need the 10mm id buy the 80-200 afs as i believe its sharper than my vr. I was depressed when mine was stolen. I loved the hefty body. Shame that swm werent so durable. Afd never failed me. </p>
  7. <p>Btw call around, u can probably find parts for it. At worse u can send it to japan. Most likely theyd have parts. </p>
  8. <p>I had thesame issue with my 28-70 afs lens. It wouldnt lock and then would stop. I tried cleaning the contacts and mounting and remounting but to no avail. There is an af indicator mechanism that tells the focus cam where to move. It focused on a person but would move back and forth around 1-2 inches and try to focus but couldnt lock and find what i asked it to lock on. <br> I used nrc<br> http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00caj0</p>
  9. <p>Only nikon. Too many counterfeit hoya out there (like eneloop batts). Buying retail like at bh or adorama is a ripoff. I bought b&w once and it seemed ok. But for me no, I stick with nikon. Tiffen, hell no. The rest I have no experience with.</p>
  10. I sent my 28-70 afs to nrc in taiwan. He repaired my defective silent wave motor. Costed less than it would have if i would have sent it to nikon usa. Took much less time as well and got amazing personalized service with email replies sometimes within minutes. http://www.nrcintaiwan.com/indexEN.htm
  11. Its not the gear. From what im seeing.
  12. Rodeo. I have 6 622n slaves I use in weddings. Ive tried ttl in one wedding and it just stinks. Its inconsitent and not accurate at all. Since then off camera flash are strictly in manual power. I use 3. Usually at 1/32 power. In addition to the on camera flash which runs in ttl. I do have to adjust that for certain pictures. The dj lights on the dance floor drives the metering crazy. I can shoot 5 shots in a tow with people standing atatic for a picture and get 5 different exposures altogether.
  13. The first time i used cls was the last time i used it and bought radio triggers. Its good for close proximity and indoors only for reliability. Other than that its mot worth much glad u like it though.
  14. Youre talking 1500-2500 bucks minimum investment Sturdy tripod with pan tilt head would be best Camera and lens. Cheapest d3300 would be fine with ample lighting. Depends what size u plan on printing. Lenses would best be if they were a prime. 2 flashes 2 light stands Radio slaves If that sounds ok to u and ur willing to invest time to the learning curve then thats whats ahead of u. Otherwise the scanning uv been doing sounds like a nice idea. Btw u will also have to edit the pics in ps with the new gear but u wouldnt have to stitch them together. Good luck
  15. Im an only nikon pro glass user but between these two, without a doubt the sigma. Reviews show it is a very capable lens. Build is great fast af, iq is great, price is great. Sigma for sure.
  16. Nikon and canon both need to drop prices on many lenses. Way overpriced. If you look at previous gen lenses the jump to the new ones are not in proportion to anything. Crappy economy, and I just see greed. But thats just my personal opinion.
  17. <p>http://regex.info/blog/photo-tech/focus-chart</p> <p>save your money. youre welcome :) works great.</p>
  18. I havent bought anything nikon accessories and havent had any issue. Hoods - caps - chargers - decoded/batteries - grips...all aftermarket I have two grips for my d600 one just in case. Never had an issue. I will not biy a nikon accesory if I have other alternatives. I was very skeptic and very weary and scared to buy 3rd party but trying it more and more, I now only buy aftermarke and very happy.
  19. I need to start documenting gear from pros i know or work with and show how bad the situation really is. Their rubber is crap. It wears out and gets that grey and stretches and is crap at best. Yes really.
  20. Respect my mf authoritay!
  21. Yea friend has the same problem. He used crazy glue to affix it in place. All rubbers o. D3/d3s/d4/d4s are coming loose. Grip under moundt left of the mount and even the bottom rubber plate. Rubber on nikon products are garbage. Lets not even talk lens rubber. What garbage. This has been an issue since the n90s/f5 era where it a problem then as well
  22. In my country (to the right of the us) and dslr videogs, its completely dominated by canon gear. Were talking more than 75%. Mainly 6d 70d 5dII 5dIII. Nikon has a lot of catching up to do. Theyve been asleep at the wheel Truthfully, even for still its dominated by canon. Although id say it a bit less than video side. Very sad.
  23. <p>I have the D3s aswell. are you talking about a shutter release problem, even though you have focus? Im having this problem as well. and another protog has it with her camera. it will show focus but will not take the picture. I dont have such a huge delay as you say but at times it will not release (if even the subject is lit well and there is enough contrast and it will show its locked) my D3 doesnt behave this way at all. my friend says his D4 also has this bug but not as often. </p> <p>I was shooting at a wedding, he gave me his D3s for the first time, and set up my shot for the part where he breaks the glass (jewish tradition) used the half press and alls good and ready to release the shutter. he goes to break it and nothing. out of instinct my finger flicked the left focus mode lever as fast as I could so to at least get him with the foot on the glass. I did, but shame with this problem.</p> <p> </p>
  24. No less than the new 400 2.8. ;) That 85 1.8 g should be on sale by itself at 100 bucks off For flowers (with tube or closeup filter) and people it will be great. Just be aware it will be a little long.
